The car is real solid. No rust in floors or trunk, just around rear tires as usual. I know most of the parts are there. Car was complete when the guy started stripping it for blasting and paint. All glass is good. No engine or trans. Everything is just stuffed inside the car. The guy died and I...
I've had great luck with Fairbanks kits. Always positive and crisp. Never had an overlap problem. They run about $175 or so. I think I still have a few in the shop. I was the dealer for them for about 10 yrs. and never had a problem. I'm sure I still have some for 350s, powerglides, and 727s.
Bought the Demon in 72, had it ever since. Bought 73, 74, 73, Dusters in the early 90s, 71 Demon in late 80s, 72 Challanger in 93, Getting a new gas tank and replacing the piece of metal between the back glass and trunk, then back to driving her.
Mine work well on little cars, but on my Challanger? I'd rather push it on flat tires! They are like an old skateboard, the smallest pebble and they stop like it's sitting on suspension only. I try to keep the floor clean, but it's not possible. With the doors open and the smallest breeze, dust...
I've only had one that tried to tell me what to do. That was a 58 model. I had another 56 model that wasn't too bad until she started using oil and I found the credit cards that I didn't know I owned. All the bill money was going to oil changes when I was at work and high octane fuel, thus the...
You can almost bet the fluid and filter change wont help. The governor is a solonoid in the valve body and is about $55 from an aftermarket trans store (ex. Whatever it takes). It's not very hard to change it, you don't have to drop the entire valve body just let it down far enough to change the...
As stated original car.It now needs exaust because of sitting. Has rust in lower rear quarters behind tires, other than that a solid running drivable car. Bring a battery and $2500.00 and tag and drive it home. Under 140k miles. Gold with white interior. Ac needs compressor (but I might have...
I've been shifting mine at 8k for years, never a problem, It's beefed up a little with some Fairbanks goodies, but for the weight difference and the ability to stay together, a 904 is plenty tough enough for a 360. My 340 is taken about as far as I can go without juice or a blower, and it's...
Need front fenders and hood or any portion thereof for a 65 Valiant. I'm in NC but will pay shipping or will come get, which ever is reasonable. Thanks
I went the cheap route, and walked. I found a RR with a 4.88, swapped the whole thing and just cut the driveshaft down. This was in the early 70's and I've had no trouble out of the new setup.
904s are cheap and easy to find, simple to build too. The shift kit will cost you more that the trans. Do be careful with the rear though. Find you an old BroncoII and take the 8.8 posi out of it, they change pretty easy and most were 3.73's.
That's what happens when you ask someone to sit in it and stop it while you're pushing it on the trailer because you ran out of gas at the strip!:angry7:
Clean out your vacuum advance port on the carb and see if you have vacuum on the hose during acceleration. I'm betting you don't and that's your problem.
I agree with Matt. Unless you are a body guru, it's a lot harder to fix a body than change a drivetrain. I can change the drivetrain in 2 days taking my time, the way I do body work, takes months.
Thanks everybody! I'm in China Grove for the few of you that are close. I'll get some pics of the Challanger and the A bodies next time I go out with the camera. I really need to get rid of 3 A bodies as I've slowed down and it doesnt look like I'm ever going to get to them (just like the 57...
Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, but not to mopars. I have several A bodies in the field and a Demon for a drag car. She's old and rough but still flies (6 flat in the 8th on pump gas+ no bottle) I have several Dusters and 1 other Demon and 1 Dart (all v-8 cars). I bought the drag car new and put...
