1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

For about the last 15 years of my "career" I drove $1000 Dusters to work, anywhere from 120 miles round trip to just 40 or so. (OK so that same old Duster would cost $2000-3000 today where I live. Yea that was back in the 90s, 2000s. I'd get the car running and with safe brakes, clean the gas...

I bought the wrong transmission for my 66.

If you can get a 5.125 retainer to bolt to your A833 4 speed and fix that issue, then it is a matter of correct shifter linkage for that shorter trans and cutting the DS down shorter. IF the A833 will bolt up to that OD bell!!! This is almost as bad as working on a Ford where they changed parts...

I bought the wrong transmission for my 66.

Bearing retainer is what I was trying to say! the 833 OD has a larger bearing retainer the the regular A833.

I bought the wrong transmission for my 66.

Seems like you trans is out of an F body or pickup. A short tail shaft A833 is correct for the Dart. Yep like you know, shorter than that OD trans, thus tail shaft issue. Question? Is the bolt pattern on the OD bell the same as needed for the A833 trans? Check!! Also check the input shaft...

    1/2 price models at Michaels

20-30 years ago, a $ was a $ , today it takes 10 $ to make a $ !!! or is it 20 $ to make a $ ??? And...... the cell phone is the down fall of America's mental state and ability to be conduct everyday business. Especially as far as the youth and young people are concerned. IMHO

What is the best/worst you've done when selling at a swap meet?

I drove all the way from Mo. to Carlisle twice, back in the 90s. The first time it was hot like now, no body was buying anything. All they did was walk around with a sweat rag and complain about the heat. It was HOT! This was maybe 93 or 4 or 5? Took me 3 days to sell a 70 perfect...

Blank canvas, steel sided 40x60 pole barn. Thoughts on insulating, electrical, heating???

Back in good ole Mo. I cooled about 1000 sq. feet of my humble abode with a 110 window unit. Never turned it on till maybe noon, and it kept it perfect all day. 100 degree days no issue. I did build it with 6 inch wall studs and insulated it well with bats. It was what we call a...

What is the best/worst you've done when selling at a swap meet?

I have a Mopar bud in Al. He had a bud that owned an old boneyard and he would let my friend go out and take off bolts, screws, the little things for free. My bud would drive to Carlisle and sell these "trinkets" for $1 ea. He had many many little plastic boxes with 3 x 3 holds for each and...

    Real estate question.

In most of Texas, r/e agents pay each month to list on a website that is limited to listings of r/e agents. A guy can always put up a sign on property that says "for sale by owner!". :BangHead: Works for some property in some areas.
  27. barbee6043

    Real estate question.

Inquire as to a well known KNOWLEDGable R/E office/agent, have them research comparable sales and see their opinion. Or have it appraised. Many people think their property is commercial when in fact it is not.
