LD340 intakes are still out there !

$400 plus...at those prices they don't sell. ..$200 is a good deal. You're just getting nostalgia / day two. Lots of good aluminum intakes out there.I've seen used rpm's go for $125

    Carb conundrum

Every combination is different.I had a '69 340 Dart with a stock cam, a Torker, and a 600 edelbrock ..With a stock converter and 3.55's that thing would sqeal for half a block even though everyone is convinced the old Torker is a waste of money....it pulled hard start to finish!

    Carb conundrum

i've seen stock hi comp. 340 builds dyno around 280 making the factory rating realistic.I think the engines using the thermoquad carb peaked a bit higher. I know of one 426 hemi built to stock specs that dynode 465 hp at nearly 6000 rpm without water pump, alternator, fuel pump or fan and had open...

    69 340 carb aftermarket.

the electric choke models are much leaner than the manual choke edelbrocks..but both are infinitely adjustable with metering rods, jets, step up springs, pump position, idle mixture etc. avoid the dreaded 750 if you have a large cam..the 650 Thunder is a nice piece too! it is hard to beat an...

Edelbrock Experts I need your thoughts

doesn't the wideband o2 sensor analyze 5 gasses? ...carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, oxygen and nitrous oxides to calculate the unburnt fuel ratio. i have found big cams tough to clean the idle on.That lumpy idle so many like is unburnt fuel popping and burning in the exhaust pipes.

Edelbrock Experts I need your thoughts

another option is to install a bung on the other bank and move the 02 sensor to check it at some point. It's unlikely to vary much. I think they read 5 gasses 400 times a second or something and and can be used to record, monitor or even flash a new curves in modern computer controlled vehicles...

i also have the MTX-L, very easy to use and no problems so far. ...just move it to another vehicle when things are set up...or a friends' vehicle. ...it's a tool and doesn't have to be permanent.

Edelbrock Experts I need your thoughts

just curious, what is the rest of your build.I have a stock cam 340 now that is running rich at cruise (1405) and have just ordered metering rods to lean the cruise circuits. The 1405 has richer cruise circuits than the 650 Thunder as well which I have used and really like.

Edelbrock Experts I need your thoughts

...all you have changed is the cruise circuit which has gone richer as it should. stock looks perfect. ...have you tried a different step up spring?

Edelbrock Experts I need your thoughts

... my figures show the 1405 about 12% richer than the 1406

Edelbrock Experts I need your thoughts

98/75 is much larger than 92/68 think of the outside 1/8 inch of a 1 inch circle compared to the outside 1/8 inch of a .90 circle.I think if you increase the diameter of a 1" circle 1/8" you increase the area about 25%...you have leaned a very lean carb even more. That 1406 is very lean compared...

    Old or New Fuel Sender?

when i did mine (i replaced the float which had cracked) i re bent the shaft and ended up at 10 and 70 perfectly dry i started adding fuel in measured amounts and it is quite close now. 2 measured gallons hit 1/8th 8 gallons 1/2

    Edelbrock Carb Rebuild

..as Magnum says, very easy to go through and easy to fine tune as well. you may want to take the top off and clean everything inside as well as set the floats.

When and why factory used dual snorkel?

hmm...theoretically the area for air intake only has to equal the total of dual 2 1/4" pipes,so one snorkel properly sized should do it. i'm sticking with "Bling"

    2-Barrel to 4-Barrel Conversion

    69 Dodge Dart Venting

    gas tank sending unit

since this post has been brought back...new float $15 i put one gallon in and gauge just barely moved 2 gallons and we're at 1/8th added 5 more for a total of 7 and we're just below half. ...the original gauge is quite accurate

    gas tank sending unit

problem found! float on sender has a hairline crack and float was full of gas. my sending unit resistance is 10.7 - 63 ohms. That is the full arm sweep without the float. I think it can be adjusted by bending the arm at the stop to allow resistor more travel. Tx all, hope this helps someone...
