    FABO's best thread.

It's kind of a toss up for me. My two favorite threads are FJRdoc's 340 Duster resto thread due to the massive attention to detail of a DIY resto project, and Captain Kirk's resto thread because I like his stories and efforts to restore his car like it was - back in the day.

New eagle rods or refurbish originals?

This was the case with my engine. Ross pistons and H Beam Eagle rods - my crankshaft counterweights looked like swiss cheese with all of the holes drilled to offset for the lighter piston/rod assemblies.

Anyone replaced their radio in this generation of RAM ?

:banghead: I just talked to my wife, she threw it out when painting our spare bedroom this past winter.

Anyone replaced their radio in this generation of RAM ?

I believe I do - are you in need of one? I'm at work right now and can't remember if I have that one still or the one out of our old 2000 Durango. I'll check when I get home tonight (10PM).

Anyone replaced their radio in this generation of RAM ?

I have an 06 Ram 3500 and I replaced the radio in my truck. My truck had the regular am/fm/cd radio - no navigation. I replaced it with a Kenwood navigation system. In doing this, I also purchased the wiring adapter to hook the aftermarket radio up to the OEM Dodge wiring in the dash. I also...

Vehicle I have always wanted is a '72 Bronco half cab. Has to be a '72 as that was the last year of the half cab and also the year I was born. Maybe some day...

Cars you always wanted, but never admitted to...

Those LT-1's would really run. This same uncle - his first car was a 70 1/2 LT-1 Camaro. He bought it off a used car dealer lot. That afternoon, his dad (my grandfather) asked for the keys. He took it out, came back, and told him he had to take it back - too fast. My uncle returned it and...

Cars you always wanted, but never admitted to...

I hear you on that! I really feel lucky now that, as a teenager in the 80's (class of '90) I was fortunate to be around a lot of cars that are now pretty high dollar and I would never be able to afford. First muscle car I rode in was a 1970 GTO convertible 455 4 speed, I think only around 200...

    Roadrunner or Not

Here in Virginia, whenever I got pulled over (been 10+ years since the last time) the officer would look at the VIN tag. Never had one compare it to the registration, but they would shine their flashlight on it to see if it was there.

Cars you always wanted, but never admitted to...

My uncle's best friend in high school had a green '69 Corvette, except his was a L-88 427. This was in the mid 70's (class of '76). He had it up until the early 2000's, then raffled it off to raise money to start a flooring business.

    Tig welders - discuss

I second this. I've had my square wave tig 175 for about 18 years and it has done everything I have wanted to do. My personal experience with welders is you get what you pay for. I've got this and a powermig 255 mig welder. Happy with both. I was able to build a very nice set of headers...

    69 Dart GT Conv. 340-6pak

Yes, the crank has worked out great. I've actually got the engine back out of our car right now. Just doing some cleanup and getting the heads ported (not touching the short block). I will definately look you up if im down that way again.

Hey Martin! I don't know how I missed this build thread of yours, but the car looks great! It sure has come a long ways since I was at your place to pick up that crankshaft. Your attention to detail is incredible.

Anyone have any regrets from their past

The one regret I have is not joining the Navy. I am very appreciative of the life I have now. If I had joined the Navy, my life today would be very different, so there is some degree of "unknown" there too. Most of my family members are Navy veterans. One of my grandmothers was a Navy Wave...

    Whadaya do for fun?

This honestly is the first thing I thought of when I read the thread title, lol. What we do for fun, actually just find it very relaxing, is let our chickens out of the coop in the afternoons after work to let them free range. We will grab the lawn chairs, set them up, and just spend an...

    Help me spend my money!

What ever you do, don't get the Innovate LM-2. It is a huge POS. I just sunk $700+ dollars into one with the all of the adapters I need - two O2 sensors, tailpipe clamps so it can be transfered from vehicle to vehicle, harness extensions, inductive clamp, and the module. It is my...
