    KPH speedometers

Difference between kilometers and miles is 1.6 (I mile equals 1.6 kilometers). In order to regear it at the transmission you just have to multiply the tooth count by 1.6. Sounds easy but unfortunately the highest tooth count is 45 afaik. That would mean you can only use this conversion method...

Holley Sniper vs. Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4

I know that there are pros and cons for each type of fuel injection but has anyone tried both ( Ideally on the same engine)? What was your experience after the change? Thanks!

EFI tank with Carbureted engine plumbing questions

Here is another option: EFI to Carb Dual Stage Fuel Pressure Regulator - Aeromotive, Inc It is $$$ but I plan on using that one as it is specifically designed for the intended application and it got a great deal on one!

EFI tank with Carbureted engine plumbing questions

Imo you want to use the wrong fuel pressure regulator. The one you linked in you post is for a carbureted application with a low input pressure! There are dedicated FPRs for running carbs with an EFI pump. Directly from the Holley webpage: "Most fuel pressure regulators are designed to operate...

Best mini starter for RB big block 440 engine with TTI headers.

Thanks Jim but I was referring to the 2005-08 Ram Hemi starter. It is smaller than the regular mini starter and stronger (1.7kw vs 1.4kw) - but I'm not 100% sure if it fits a BB. Rusty said yes and I also found a thread over at cuda-challenger.com where a guy said it fits. Anyways I ordered one...

Best mini starter for RB big block 440 engine with TTI headers.

Do you have a picture of it bolted to a block? I would think that the solenoid would be really close to the block/hit the block..

Help me with A833 Gear ratio choice wide or close!

iirc Direct Connection recommended the 3.09 first 1:1 fourth gear set for drag racing. The 1.18 drop sounds huge but it's the percentage drop that matters: rpms drop by 38% (6000 --> 3728 rpm when shifting from first to second gear). When using a 2.66 first box the drop is 28% (6000 --> 4330...

F.I. Tech or Holley sniper. Opinions from users.

Very doable! Use this intake: Chevy SBC 350 Cross Ram Webber Stack Intake Manifold Satin | eBay It's a SBC manifold. You have to cut it in half lengthwise for port alignment (between cylinders 3 and 5 as well as 4 and 6) and add spacers plates (mount the two pieces of the manifold on the...

    hydraulic clutch without a kit

Will do for sure. Actually there are two ways to skin the cat (= using a Chevy bearing): 1.) use an 18-spline bearing retainer and turn it down slightly: tube diameter is 1.417 and ID of bearing is 1.375-1.379. I'd turn it down to 1.360 to have some play. 2.) use a sleeve on the 23-spline...

    hydraulic clutch without a kit

How much was the Powertrain bearing? I was thinking about ordering a Chevy or Howe bearing (for a Chevy - around $100) and putting a sleeve over the Mopar bearing retainer tube to make up for the different diameter. If I can avoid the hassle and just buy the correct Mopar diameter bearing for a...

    Dana 60 questions

Are these new gears really 3.23 gears or 3.33 gears (used in Ford PUs - 50/15 teeth)? Anyways, is the left over set still available (and/or an original 3.33 gear set)?

    Stroker cam suggestion

Thanks for the input so far. Afaik the narrow LSA should increase low/mid rpm torque and not top end at the price of a narrower power band. Other suggestions were (all lift numbers with 1.6 rockers): Hughes 250/254 @.050, 108 LSA, .627/.640 lift Jones Cams 252/255 @.050, 110 LSA .582/.592 lift

    Stroker cam suggestion

Hi, I'm in need of a cam for my 505 stroker (TF 240 heads) and have narrowed it down to a solid flat tappet cam in the 245-250 @ .050 range (street car, 3.33 rear gears, 4-speed). Talked to Dwayne Porter and he suggested a straight pattern Comp Cams XTQ lobe (278 adv., 248 @.050, 160 @.200, .566...

    Clutch Thoughts

Thanks! Just curious how you actually convert a regular clutch to an adjustable clutch? Do you have to change the springs and add adjusters (bolts that preload the springs when turned)?

    Clutch Thoughts

What would you recommend in my situation (600hp 500" stroker)? I have a B&B/Long pressure plate (2400 base pressure and counterweights) and a McLeod 100 series organic disc (still on the workbench). Should I rather get a 500 series dual friction disc?

    synchro interchange/best ones to use

you could use one OD synchro not two. The reason is that one synchro has a hub/drum with a smaller inside diameter - it won't fit on a regular main shaft. I think it's the 3-4 drum that has the smaller inner diameter but I'm not 100% sure but you'll see it when comparing both drums. On non OD...
