    The factory pistons use metric rings, doubt you can find metric rings in anything but Moly. If the cylinders are honed, they need to be honed for Moly rings.

    not necessarily, in a vehicle with a data buss, you need vin for it to communicate with body computer in some instances or you wont get buss info, also if you have SKiM or alarm, you need vin or it wont start at all.

    LESS pressure? Its valve overlap ie less lobe separation which holds both valves open together thus lowering cylinder pressure.If it was how you said, you wouldnt need higher compression with a larger cam. :D

    I would recommend against reusing a flat tappet cam and lifters from another block, 97% chance it will roll a lobe, at least IMHO. Even if it was a good grind for FI, I would say dont.
