    left hand lug nuts

The catch of the day was a crawdad. At least they got some good cast and retrieve practice. Didn't really expect them to catch anything in that lake. Next trip we are going to a good bluegill hole and have some real fun.

    left hand lug nuts

Mike, the driver's side was left hand thread and the passenger's side was right hand thread until 1973. 1972 was the last year MaMopar used this arrangement.

Take your paint code or a body part the right color down to your local auto paint supply house. They can mix the paint and put it in rattle cans for you.

    66 Cuda brakes/master cyl

I have a '74 Charger master cylinder on my '66 Valiant. No problems with the mounting bolts or the pushrod. Should work fine if you use a tee to connect the front brake hard lines (2) to the line from the master cylinder. The rear line should hook up with a straight union. Hope this helps.

    Unusual Color on 1966 Barracuda

I remember our local Ford dealer having 3 pink Mustangs on his lot in 1965. They were 6 cylinder stripper notchbacks with 3 speed transmissions. Anyway, the story from the dealership was that Hugh Hefner paid to have 500 Mustangs painted pink at the factory (smallest paint run Ford would do) so...

    Score! What did I do?

What makes you think this is the case? There were far more hydraulic cam 273s produced than mechanical cam versions. All the 2 barrel 273s (which is what your car started with) had a hydraulic cam and in '64 the intake manifold bolts were vertical. If you wanted to put a 4 barrel carb and intake...

How much should it be shortened....

Have you already ditched the ball and trunnion drive line or are you planning on a hybrid drive shaft? If the shop doesn't know what you want when you tell them the situation, find another shop. All I have to tell our local drive line shop is "I am swapping an 8 1/4" into a '65 Valiant" and they...

    Early A turn signal tip

Had a problem with my '66 Valiant turn signals that may be of help to you in the future. The dash indicator quit working on left turns. Checked the lights and the right front turn signal was not coming on. Right rear turn signal worked fine and the dash indicator worked as well. Changed out the...

    9" Drum Brake Hardware??

Sometimes you have to adjust the year to match what is in their computer. I know that '69 Dart 9" brake parts work on a '62 Lancer. 9" brakes are 9" brakes. There weren't enough changes from '60 to '76 to make a functional difference in the parts.

Getting desperate for sway bar bushings

There is a kit that contains sway bar bushings and new end links for $59 plus shipping on www.justsuspension.com . That's one option.

    Poly question?!?!

If you weren't on the other side of the known universe, you could sell me your truck and solve your problem. I could use your truck but I would really rather have a slant. Hope you get it going.

    Poly question?!?!

Any smallblock tranny will bolt to a poly with one little glitch. The crank flange on a poly is 3/4" farther from the block face than an LA. You will have to run a spacer between the block and the tranny to make this up. Look for an early hemi to smallblock auto adapter. Wilcap might be a good...

    Spring??????????

Are you talking about the spring beside the hood latch to pop the hood open? There isn't one. I just looked at my '66 Valiant, there isn't even a hole for one to go into. Since the car has 44,000 on the clock and hasn't been mucked about with, this must be normal. Unless it's a conspiracy...

    66 Barracuda ?

Body damage. They have not been present on every '66 Barracuda I have lusted after for 42 years now and definitely are not present on my '66 Valiant. They aren't present on memike's Valiant either. Got a little more work to do.

    Early A V8 throttle cable?

The cable came with a cable throttle setup off a '65 Barracuda that I am going to use when I switch over from the rod setup on my '66 Valiant. Can't use the cable since it will be way too short for my slant. Do know that the cable is not frozen, has no kinks, no wear spots on the sheath, and...

    70 225 exhst ? please

Are you looking for the gasket that goes between the intake and exhaust manifolds? The stock metal one is available from most any parts store as part of the manifold gasket kit or you can get one at any Dodge/Chrysler dealer. Pentastar Performance in Australia has a composite gasket available as...

    v100 vs v200

V100's were basic Valiants. Rubber mats, taxicab upholstery, horn button, no trim, dog dish hubcaps and blackwall tires, heater optional, etc. V200's got you carpet, nice seats and door panels, horn ring, two sunvisors, lots of trim, full wheel covers, heater, etc. VL's were 100's, VH's were...

    ID this stuff for me

Looks to me like you have a 1963 318 Poly with a spare 4 barrel intake. You would be surprised at the parts that will interchange from the LA series. Mopar Muscle took one of these out to 432" and had a 450 HP stock looking Poly in a Belvedere. The key component to this madness was a Mopar...

    66 Barracuda 3 Speed

Does this trans need rebuilding because the syncros are shot on 1st gear? If that is the case, no worries. It never had any to start with. Syncros on 1st gear didn't come along until '67 or '68. If you are worried about the whining in 2nd gear, that's pretty much normal. These trannys have been...

Just got a 66 Barracuda home

Don't know about triple SU's on a slant, but they are not worth the constant fiddling needed to keep them running right on a Datsun 240Z. Have the dual Offy on my '66 Valiant and love it. Started out with 2 1920 Holleys and they were a real PITA. If I hadn't spent so much on the manifold I'd a...

    where to get fiberglass bumpers.

VFN has fiberglass bumpers, hoods, deck lids, and fenders for the early A's. For an additional charge, they will make them out of carbon fiber as well. They are the only people I have found who has these items. Hester (my 66 Valiant 4 door) still looks like a granny grocery getter, but she is a...

    decode a 63 valiant.

Don't know if this will help, but it looks to me like you have found a 170 Slant 6, Torqueflite equipped, radio delete, '63 Valiant 200 sedan with add on air conditioning. Rear gear was a 3.23 with the 170 slant and automatic. Hope this helps.

    Slant Six Conversion Project

If the car in question is the '66 Barracuda in your sig line, here goes. 1) Are we talking brackets or insulators? No way will the slant brackets work since they bolt to the block with bosses ala Blowtie, so you will need to find 273 brackets and space the driver's side to match the lugs on the...

    65 Barracuda tranny

Really hard to say right now. My current A body is a '66 with rod linkage. I have a cable throttle assembly that I got off Ebay for 10 bucks. I would post a pic of it so you could get an idea what the mounting plate looks like, but for some reason the disc from my hard drive exited the tower...

    65 Barracuda tranny

If you have a cable throttle pedal you're good to go. A '66 shifter will work or you could go aftermarket. Glad I could help.
