    In the meantime...

Any suggestions on pulling the inner springs for break in? Hyd roller/TF240/harland. Consensus is No. I was told with the roller lifters to disregard the notion. Just wondering what you all do. I have the C clamp compressor, and the dinky overhead one that never works. I can make a shaft style...

    Budget Rocker choice

I wouldn’t shy away from 273 adjustable joints. Put a set on a 390 stroker, everything I could ask for.

    440 build need ideas

BluePrint Engines BPC4931CT Base 493 Chrysler 525HP 590TQ johnnymac is a member here. I would reach out to him about the 493. Not what I did, but I sure put more than that in mine! And still wish I stroked it

    440 build need ideas

Budget build? Cast crank should be good for up to 5-550. That power is easy to come by. What year 440? The compression distance will vary. Stroker kits with iron heads sometimes boost the comp too high. I would start with the top end. I went with trick flow 240’s and the rest of their pack. I...

    In the meantime...

So, I got my hood from Kramer a few weeks ago, couldnt be happier with it. Totally worth the tag. Also buttoned up the bottom end, clearanced the pickup and all that fun stuff. Hoping to get it all together before the summer, or after the havoc anyhow.

    Don't Do This

I like demonic’s response to the meter. Whatever happened to wrapping the buggers in the top of the camel or wrigley packs, and run it til is sizzles?

[Found!] 1967 Steering Column Bearing Housing Nuts and Bolts

I had the same problem recently. Definitely need the 1/4-20 square nuts, start the screws and let them pull it together. I have a ton of old hardware kicking around my barn, so when I disassembled I saw a square nut on the floor and couldn’t figure it out til I saw another.

    Just got a 6 week " vacation"

I went from working on a Guillermo Del Toro film, poised to start a Judd Apatow film that was supposed to start Monday the 16th. The last big movie I was on was supposed to come out this week but is delayed (a quiet place2). Also all of my work as a stagehand is “postponed” no concerts, plays or...

OK what are you stocking up on?

Mostly parts for the cars. I’m the only one going to my shop, which is my usual, working by myself with no distractions, except for the state of the world. Stocked up on random engine parts, gaskets, rtv. Wish I had the paint at this point and, I would hate to have to put my car together with...

    Wooden Rotisserie Question

Another Rotisserie Post post #10 is a different style of wood one. I’m sure both have their advantages. Not mine, I almost built one, but scored a steel one instead. I probably would have used 2” rigid nipple for the ends. This one looks light

    Motor plate thought?

Well, the ARE plate goes between the water pump housing and the block. I put mine in independent of the k frame. I am going with an HHR fan, so I can’t say much on that. I have the ati balancer and had to wait for a long time for the pulley from Doty Mfg. AndyF suggested getting ARP studs for...
