    bench seat adjustment issues

You do know that there is a tensioned wire that goes from the lever latch to the opposite sides latch? The wire tends to stretch, there is an adjustment hook for adjusting the tension. Both bucket and bench seats have them. May be easier to remove the seat to adjust it.

Don't read if you're close minded

Here's Larry Widmers take: There’s a lot that leads up to this, but here’s a quick and dirty of my first experience with dynomometers (other than for kart engines). Our BOSS 429 Mustang had run 10.0’s locally at two tracks, before we were heading up to our first really big drag racing event in...

Here you go Bewy, Piston area and force.

That's like your opinion man :) Maybe were looking from the same from you. It's not instance hp cause your not factoring in stroke or displacement depending on the eg.. This formula has nothing really to do with what were talking about lol.

    Overheating at idle

What cam specs? If not using one, use a high flow 180 thermostat. At least remove & test the existing stat. It may not be opening fully. Do not drill holes in the stat; all it does is increase warm up time. Main problem is pump speed [ & therefore fan ] too slow; makes a BIG difference. Pump...

Your argument has no bearing on what he is doing. It is entirely too technical and amounts to nothing for what he is doing. Cut it out. Don't make me come down there. Then we'll have to go Australian beer samplin. lol

Cheap *** headers at it again!!

Mechanical work? I installed the differential in my dad's f-150 pick up when I was 12 years old, helped my dad rebuild the hydraulic system on his Davis trencher, helped him put new tracks on the same trencher. Rebuilt many a lawnmower, I done those things before I was 15 years old. I've...

Don't read if you're close minded

And what about distribution? Of air & fuel? Many production engines had snivvies riveted to the side of the booster to re-direct airflow. Obviously the factories found variations in cyl-to-cyl air flow & this was a fix that was used. Aftermarket carbs.........Well who knows. Some of the...

Low voltage at gauge, no charge?

Aside from the MSD electronic ignition, it appears to be relatively stock, with the addition of some aftermarket Autometer gauges. The ammeter is still there and connected, I just put in a replacement fuel gauge with the IVR upgrade, and a new tach so I know this to be true. Preliminary check...

I edited my orig post to read CPE Fuel Line. It is Nylon braided outer, then braided stainless, then CPE synthetic rubber inner, fuel line (except E85) I make my own lines on my workbench, with a few AN wrenches, and assembly tools for my vice. I bought all the AN tools, and wrenches from...

We're using solid roller lifters this go round on the 402. lol On the 283, I'm using standard Melling hydraulic lifters.

    318 question?

Pretty sure the Poly 318 cam is different to the 67 & later 318. Different lifter bore angle. Isky lists different part numbers for the two engine series.

Shorty, I apologise for interrupting your thread but you & the readers are being fed absolute bullshit by '273'' & Newbomb Turk with their claim that increasing area of the piston creates more push on the con rod. They know it is wrong but haven't got the guts to admit it. They are getting...
