Malwood underdash hydraulic kit for A-Bodies

The Ram is the best deal from what i can see, the Hydramax is a nice bearing but pricy, honestly from what I have seen and read the Cherry bearing that Malwood sells seems to be all around best. the 180 degree placement of the bleeder and pressure lines will make bleeding a snap

Here you go, Piston area and force.

I'm not arguing the internal combustion merits of the discussion at all. I see some people here using very general guidelines without including any of the additional constraints that really should be included. There's no replacement for displacement. I don't need to cite a book to prove that.

    Intake distribution issues

I am running full length Hedmans with full 2.5 exhaust out to the rear end. And a 904 with 3500 Stall and 4.30s out back. Question though if I was pulling air would I not be getting weird afr readings with the air leak? As for now with the spacers my afr will float from 13.5 to 13.8 cruising...

Here you go, Piston area and force.

What you are saying is pretty much true for all. A simple porta power...bigger cylinder more force. It's all about the math and the physics.

Clearly I am biased but there is so much more attention to detail and quality involved in his car than will ever get mentioned in a for sale thread. It is meticulously done. For those that have seen it, crawled over and under it, I dare ya to find a fault. It is stunning.

    Just bought a smoke machine.

I never use gaskets on stock manifolds, unless they are badly pitted. Never had one leak without the gasket, but plenty that did with one.

U Bolts from a Dakota rear end working on an 8 3/4. Has anyone used this or heard of this.

As long as the Dak has a 8 1/4 or 9 1/4 rear, there's no reason they shouldn't work. Like Icetech said- the bolts don't care what they came off of, just so the tube diameter is correct. Just may be a little long, especially if coming off a 4x4. Beware the 4 cyl. Daks, they had 7 1/4 rears and...

    Narrowed 8 3/4 questions

In post 16 It appears to me, that you are looking at the captured Thrust-block This block is NOT found on a clutch-type Limited Slip. It is found in all cone-type Mopar 8.75 Sure Grips. It is captive on the Crosspin and cannot be lost. But you can take it out and machine the ends off for...

Going to Check Out a "Barn Find"

BrianT, the trick is "does he know what he is doing?" Who knows, he may finally relent and the two of you can agree on a price. I'd wait 10 days or so and go over with a hand full of dead presidents and give him an offer half way between your original offer and what he is asking. You can always...

    Narrowed 8 3/4 questions

On a racecar, do whatever you want, I got no advice. But ON THE STREET there is no good reason to run 11x3" brakes on the back, cuz yur gonna have to proportion them down severely, to work on an A-body, to prevent a spin on a panic stop. Even with 295s on the back, and 10x2s, I had to play with...

Here you go, Piston area and force.

Just for posterity who may come along later, here is what Harold Bettes said about piston area. And like Bewy says, he KNOWS what he’s talking about until someone makes claims he never did. Right out of his book, long before he added the part Bewy posted. You can read it for yourselves...
