I have a pedal holder i made for doing alignments,works good for holding pedal. Had to troll through 3,000 ish photos to find it. 3/8” rod with a slightly larger hole in flat bar. Push rod to depress pedal, slide bar up to seat and it holds pedal down. Lots of walking. No waiting for helper.

I've had this book since it first came out. Paid a few bucks for it new. I haven't used it in years because I found it to be incomplete and has quite a few errors. The FPM's are the best to rely on.

Two year update. After the initial loosening (half torque in under 200mi) they've remained tight since I retorqued in spring 2022. Not an ideal situation, but it seems sorted out on my end
