I think you have the components to go to seven grand, I would go with a solid lifter or to save some money right now. Put the lash at zero and bump the timing up. Those are two no-cost items that you can try right now

Driver side should be PCV valve. Passenger is breather/oil cap.

AMD did make a 72-76 valve cover. MN2529 Looks like Classic Industry sells them. Not sure why it isn't listed on the AMD website.

Also in these pics it shows the ground that comes off the light harness at front of car and the engine ground. I’m told that these are both terrible grounds. Could this have anything to do with my issues? I have someone getting me proper engine ground cable tomorrow. The front light harness...

Two things I would do is set the lash at zero like one of the other folks other suggested and I know you're not going to want to hear it but try a carburetor
