    Annoying ticking sound while driving.

Do you have a shroud? Is it possible that your engine mounts are bad and the engine is shifting under certain conditions and the fan is grazing the shroud? If it is an automatic the flex plate could be cracked?

i was there for the green bearing wars. i fought back the hoards and naysayers, driving the detractors before their wives and children and reaping their mortal souls amidst the wails; and making chariots of their bones in the aftermath. i did this not to quell my insatiable appetite for blood...

They were classified as a 780 if they had the rear metering blocks. But yeah, same carburetor. This one is a 750, though, I do believe.

Trick to removing quarter window felt?

They are not really designed to come out I have adjusted the glass down stop so the glass is out of the way. with a plastic trim tool between the cat whiskers and the body to pry it sideways and another to lift it up at the same time

Those early 3310’s had metering blocks so they are 4150’s. That is a 4160. The early ones were about close enough out of the box to work very well on most stuff.

    Rod Bolts

An engine builder worth a **** at least measures the rods after installing the bolts. If the rods use press fit bolts 98% of the time they need to be resized. Of course people who have to stand behind the engines they build cut corners like that. IMO it’s damn ignorant to not at least check.

    checking rear end housing straightness

For a roundy-pounder, I'd run it.... and keep an eye on the axle bearing on the bent side. Needing "some" tapping is not a deal breaker for me, in your situation. A ten pound sledge and a swing, would be a different answer.

Is it inter cooled? First year's were not. Owners put banks systems on them...

    My 422 smallblock build

Look at the center electrode. It’s got too much heat in it. I’d start by getting some timing out of it. Where is the 34 total all in at? It ain’t happy for dang sure.

    Nmca and Nmra are finished.

To bad there is nothing but the nhra on the west coast. Maybe the track that is five minutes away would be open more than twice a year. (....like it was before the nhra STABBED us little guy racers in the back!)

Green bearings are the foundation upon which every vehicle since the Volkswagen Beetle has been built. We owe green bearings our gratitude! Let's give green bearings a great big hand!
