My plans for my 69 Dart Swinger 340

I believe (and I bet that most on the forum will agree) that disc brakes are a big improvement over drums. They will stop a car in a shorter distance. I added disc brakes to my 69 340 4 speed Barracuda, and I think it is the best upgrade I have made to it. Now I will agree that drum brakes do...

Leaf springs flat - 69 Barracuda

Nice car. I have seen 69 Fastbacks in orange, and it just did not work for me, but that notch in orange is nice.

Ball joint socket size and where to purchase?

I have done it with a big pipe wrench. It worked fine. I bet that at least 75% of all front end shops would press them in if you took them the control arms and new ball joints and just asked to have them "installed".

Ball joint socket size and where to purchase?

If you bump that up by 1/64" you have 1-60/64 which becomes 1-15/16. THAT would have made sense.

Ball joint socket size and where to purchase?

The threads in your control arms didn't look too bad. Make sure you clean the old threads well, and use some anti seize. I'm sure you know this. but install the new ball joint when the upper control arm is installed in place.

Ball joint socket size and where to purchase?

That is actually pretty common. It is (or was) not at all uncommon for a guy to take his car in to have front end work done, and the mechanic did not know they were threaded. They got manhandled out and the new ones got pressed in. Then they got tack welded in place. Maybe the mechanic saw the...

searching for front coil spring replacements for a 1975 Plymouth Scamp

It could just be BAD shocks causing the bumpy ride. A complete rebuild of the front suspension is in order.

searching for front coil spring replacements for a 1975 Plymouth Scamp

Have you looked up under the front of the car to see what kind of "Coil Springs" your car has? Take a look. You will find that your car does not have coil springs. It has torsion bars. What symptoms does your car have that makes you think you need new 'springs'?

    Tire interference at full drop

Sorry, but I have some questions. Are you saying that the tires were not rubbing before but now they are? Are you saying that you got new tires (possibly went from 205/70/14 to 215/70/14) and they rub? Did they just all the sudden start rubbing. If they were not rubbing before, something has...

    Need new steering gear box

Well, don't do what I did. About 15 years ago, I bought an A-1 Cardone rebuilt PS box from Advance Auto. My steering was a bit sloppy, so I thought that would fix it. I noticed virtually no difference, and the box is a BIG pain to R&R with headers. I have since heard that many rebuilding...

    K-frame alignment?

All I can say is that I have taken K Frames out and put them back in more times than I can remember, and I have never had a problem. I can't help but to think that there is something else going on.

    Borgeson power input shaft size

Pretty sure it is different. I thought about that conversion a few years ago. I called Borgenson and I seem to remember they said it was different, but they sold the part. Give them a call

HELP...PIC OR NUMBER NEEDED FOR A POWER STEERING HOSE 1971 340 DEMON WITH NO AC AND FEDERAL PUMP

Let me tell you what I did. I have a 69 Barracuda with a 340 and PS. About 28 years ago, I was done with the first restoration (I've had the car for going on 35 years) and ready to drive it. Unfortunately, I could not find a PS high pressure hose anywhere. I tried Advance Auto, NAPA and several...

DOES THE HDK SUSPENSION K-MEMBER HANDLE BETTER THAN A T-BAR SUSPENSION?

I have wanted to put in an RMS Alterkation front and Streetlynx rear setup in my 69 Barracuda for years, but I just can't force myself to spend the money. The thing I like about their front setup in that there in no shock tower strengthening required. I seem to remember it needed significant...

    Need front suspension guidance

@72bluNblu has given good advice. Depending on your budget and plans for the car, it may be to your advantage to just repair what needs to be repaired now. That being said, if you have the mechanical expertise to do the work yourself and plan to keep the car for a while, you can never go wrong...

What brand Suspension Parts do you reccomend?

Moog definitely isn't what it used to be. They are made somewhere in Asia now; Malasia I think. Contact @PST. They are sponsors of this forum, they offer members a 10% discount, their parts are probably as good as what you will get anywhere, and the people at PST WILL take good care of you.

Hotchkis or Hellwig Front Sway Bar?

I installed the Hotchkis on my 69 Barracuda about 12 years ago. It was an easy one day installation. I had to weld on a few brackets, but the instructions were very good. I am VERY impressed with the Hotchkis sway bar. I noticed a marked difference in handling.

    Unfamiliar with Mopar’s need help

If only cars could talk! Wait a minute; come to think about it, it's probably a good thing they can't. I installed a Hotchkis swaybar on mine. I had to weld the brackets on. It made a big, positive difference.

    Rebuilding front and rear suspension

I see you are a relatively new member. Welcome. I would definitely contact @PST. Like @66fyssh said, they are sponsors on this site and give a FABO discount. I would go a step further and say that if you encountered any problems, PST will stand behind you and make things right. They are great...

Looking for experienced opinions on removing k-member.

@ProjectBazza, you do not need to remove the K member to do a complete front suspension rebuild. I have done it on an A Body several times.

Still pulling to left after alignment

Years ago, I bought new Goodyear tires for my 98 Dakota truck. After a short while, it started pulling hard to the left. First thing I thought of was a tire problem. It had NEVER pulled before. The tire shop tried really hard to sell me all new ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. I had just done...

    Leaf Spring Education Needed

Thanks. I guess I knew that, but I was just surprised it was so expensive. I have never had springs rebuilt/re-arched, and I had no idea how expensive it was. I assumed it would be cheaper than buying new.

Looking for a Power Steering Gear box for a 68 Barracuda

I went to Advance Auto several years ago and bought an A-1 Cardone rebuilt steering box for my 69. It has worked fine. You might still be able to do the same thing; you just won't have a core. But you will save on shipping.

Help!!! 67 Dart Upper Balljoint crooked

@oka, @RustyRatRod is right. The ball joint does need to be re-installed. As you probably know, the upper ball joint has threads and screws into the UCA (upper control arm). That ball joint looks like it was screwed in at an angle, so something is likely cross threaded. The absolute best-case...

    Front Frame Rail Evaluation

OK. You asked. Some of it looks kind of OK, and some of it looks cracked (although that could be a shadow caused by a thick weld bead sticking up). All of the welding looks rough. I do a lot of rust repair and welding. I am kind of anal when doing repairs like that. I always grind the welds down...
