Good job, MH, looks fantastic.
As far as mounting that Summit pump, lol just make sures its isolated from the body or you wont be able to hear anything other than that f’n pump!
That. Way small. Not right even a little. You shouldn't be eye stinging rich ootb with those carbs.
Are y'all positive your pv's are closing? Dribbling boosters, sticky butterflies,, etc? And as has been mentioned, timing.
Dude there is a bushing/collar that goes on first, like a crush sleeve. Cant tell if its on in the pic, but that can cause exactly the issue you're having if its not torqued.
Go to LUP, ive pulled many from there. Under $300 otd with a 24,000 mile warranty or something lol. And they're super cool. They'll fork that junk over to the loadout for you unlike a lot of places here that make you push a sketchy 15 foot high gantry that weighs about 600 lbs on its own...
Plug that middle emulsion port. Move ifr to below fuel (easy tap job, google). 4 hole spacer, not just a gasket. Dont get all cray-cray on the bleeds, small changes. Make sure you change the right ones lol, that carb should have 70/39 and 31/31.
Im using most of my 318 bracketry, i was using it all when I ran a federal (swapped to sag). All pulleys are from a 71 a/c car.
Pics, dude, pics.
You can always make brackets with tubes/rod ends or evem heavy duty alum turnbuckles.
Bummer.
I shimmed the mounts up about 1/8" on this last 360, and made a little shield so #1 runner didnt cook the ps hose. Barely, barely clears. Dont forget to check your driveline angle if you go that route!
Just need a compatible whip, which can very quite a bit between brands. I like spool guns, much more handy dandy for on the spot stuff than a Tig.
Or buy a whip just for Al as mentioned above, and rollers for the drive unit.
Dont just plug the vac advance, take it completely off the dist. I had a buddies car doing the exact same thing, the vac arm was causing a binding. Took me about a week before I threw my distributor in and figgered her. It was an accel or msd unit.
Its not bad gas lol.
The bolts kinda make it a pia, but not horribly so.
I made solid ones and welded a nut in the tube so you can use a stud. Ez pz. Support the motor, slip out/slip in.
If you want quiet do an in-tank walblo or something.
I just run a holley blue and a cheapo mr.gasket reg. You could get the summit equiv with a return reg for not much over $120-ish.
