I don't see how lift at 0.006" is meaningful at all not that one number tells you all about the cam. I think Crane had something with the 0.050" lift thing. It seems to be working well as a comparison measure does it not?

I measured both fenders and the original is about 0.1 narrower at the top which explains the issue. I’ll weld the door up. The top contour is oddly shaped so I’ll do that too.

I'm fitting my door and fender and find that the fender has to be pushed in all the way and the door pulled out to get them fitting correctly. The back and bottom of the door looks good. As you can see there is a big difference in gaps at the top. The fender has about 0.1" gap for reference...

The paint shop I use will do spray out cards to come up with a match after starting with a code. For a good job you really need to blend into the doors.

What was the recipe for more power back in the day? Headers, cam, intake and carb? I think it was discussed already in this thread but changing one component won't provide a significant gain IMHO. The stock stuff isn't garbage but it could be improved.

Does it stop properly? If so I would suspect that the rear shoes are having to travel too far for some reason...adjustment or mechanical problem of some sort. Its a guessing game.
