You are sharper at tuning ,THAN Most... A decent almost fire breathing cam grind..Crower 31916... needs a mild converter, real world 9 to 1 compression, at minimum 3 55 gears... minimum loss ,on street abilities ,maximum on torque. ( a air gap,would be nice ,any good dual plane works here..)....

Buy a better timing chain ,at least a Edelbrock True Roller. Better yet : look for a "Rolan supplied " chain. The 39.99 " Cloyes ," ,will be a disappointment ,into your performance future.. Been there ,done that Spend the money man. .

380 crate was recommended with a 750 double pumper.

8008 Weiand Steath ,if you have room, underhood... Another, decent choice, Run , the smaller carb ....

I have had 750 ,850 Holley double pumper's handed to me, i boxes.. They ran wonderful.. Someone loaned me a 750 Quick Fuel 750 d.p....with a choke.. It fouled plugs, on a 550 horsepower 383.., I pulled it apart, swapped the silly four vane P.V . fot a Holley p.v. ...it s still black dry on...

That Crower grind, is as described. I used to work for a Crower dealer, in installed a couple. It's a nice grind.... Crower is known, to tweak grinds minorly year to year.... Part Number: 32242 Mopar Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshaft Chrysler/Dodge/Mopar - 350, 361, 383, 400, 413, 426 & 440B...

Actually,OU812/IMM Engines,got over 300 with a hand ported set,for a stroker build..,Car Craft,shown the pictures..they were NICE....(Ironically,..the member I sold my heads to,had Brian flow them..(IMM....)

Do you have,an actual E.T.& trap speed,to start with? Was involved,with almost the same combination,was running 1170's-60's @ 117 at Famoso...Had well done Manning Brady x heads on it.The engine builder stated"Edelbrock heads ported,will be the same,as what you already have..." He got 280 -ish...

Camshaft is fine,for now.... Quickfuel is sweet,but pricey..(Have one),a 750 4779 Holley,is my choice ,on carbs..(can be had used,cheaply. Start simple,without the extra adjustments,learn one thing at a time...) Does "stock distributor..",mean points,or an later model 72 electronic stock...
