a little up date but not to much to write home about as far as good news. since the pic of the hotrod in the garage I've retired and moved to north Carolina. I didn't have a garage so I enclosed the carport so I would have a home base to work out of. I've pulled the motor and fixed several issues it had. I had it at the 1/8th track at Roxboro several times and had nothing but problems, fuel likes leaking, burst plate screws coming loose, dead battery, intake milled at the wrong angle, an oil line breaking, run it out of fuel and the magnetos giving me a bad time. I think that about covers the last few years. so for this next season the supermag 4 was sent in for a tune-up and is now back in the motor with the new style large cap. new plug wires are next to fit the larger cap. the hotrod did go a 6 flat shutting it off when I got it in high gear so this thing should run good and am looking forward to running that 5 flat in the 1/8th this coming season.

daredevil: a mechanical diode is a replacement of the roller sprag in the convertor with one that locks together by large gear teeth.

Here's an old cheap combo from way back when...1990

Stock 1968 440SP block +.030 Balanced
906's, template ported 2.14/1.81
CC .650"/[email protected] solid flat tappet
HS roller Rockers
Team G, 850DP, 2" open spacer
2" f/wells, Milodon single line external
Accel dizzy, MSD6A
Manual 727, 8" 4600 verter, footbrake
Back halved, Ladder Bars/coil-overs
14x32 Hoosiers, 8.3/4" 4.88 gears
Strange 35sp. Spool/axles
3000lbs all in at the line
stock front susp. with 90/10's

10.71@125mph, 1.46 short time, had a 10.5 in it somewhere as only ran it once with this set up, no time to tune the rear more, was a bit soft on the hit.

no pointing out here. but I`m surprised at how slow some of these mopars are ! I hope mine doesn`t follow suit when and if I ever get it to the strip.

My time od 91.5 in the eighth mile equates to about 112 mph in the quarter and was run on only 15 pounds of boost. The quarter-mile elapsed time for that run would have been about 12 seconds, flat, according to the Wallace calculator. I think those are OK times for a 225 slant six, running low (15 pounds) of boost. It should go considerably faster/quicker later on, after I get the boost increased to a more productive 20 and then, 25 pounds.
Here's one running 28 pounds:

You aren't failing,on motivation ....are you? Lol...

Got two other cars I can listed but they are not that much difference in set up...I expect the 71 Duster to run faster this year at Bakersfield since it has run a best of 10.78 earlier this year in Vegas and that Demon has gone 10.76 at 122 in Vegas earlier this year...so they should pick up almost 3 tenths in Bakersfield... Race weight for the Dart is a good 100 lbs lighter due to the driver.
