I went to my local O'Reilly Auto Parts and ordered the following switch: for my '71 Dart GT. I was shocked how easy it was to remove & replace. Everything works as it should. It's nice to have the full range dimmer function again.

Possible wiring issue too. Corrosion at either end (at the sensor connector or at the module connector) can diminish signal strength.
