The overdrive bearing retainer can't be machined that far. It would leave only .097" to the outside of each bolt hole. Aside from being weak, the heads would overhang anyhow. I've seen people hog out the bellhousing hole, but that leaves very little material between the opening and the bolt...

Might get better mileage towing in 5th gear instead of 6th. Could be bogging the engine in overdrive. Need to let the engine come up some more in rpm where it will make more efficient power. ☆☆☆☆☆
