his top one looks like a 70 340 air cleamer and bottom looks like the 69 style 340 air cleaner.

the 70 style doesn't fit under the hood? what carb and intake are you running that it doesn't fit?? no i would not modify that 70 air cleaner. they bring way too much money these days to hack up. mine fits with a performer rpm (non air gap) and a holley.

its only too flimsy if adjusted too tight.

i love the lokar cable kickdown kits. they prefer the abody trans leaver. seems to be the right length for their kits. did you cut the cable to length correctly? does the holley have the std linkage? i know going from a quick fuel carb to a proform carb i had to make different adjustments...

call the people at espo, get their 6 leaf V8 in desired heigh and be done with it. they offer them in stock, +1" and +2" heights. the V8 springs will use the larger front eye bolt... https://www.springsnthings.com/ .

yea tti tails don't come out at the same location as stock. they are also made fro 670up darts so they are stupid long on 70-up cars because they need to clear the 67-69 cars bumpers.. i thought the turn downs looked stipid sticking out so far so i cut them back a few inches...

i mean is that from the scoops or from it being 50+ years old? that glue sure doesn't last forever..

just a heads up for who buys them.. the pcv valve that fits that gromet is a fv184.. :)

didn't stock scooped hoods have the large holes? the 340 ones i've seen had them.. sure that isn't just a flat hood that someone put the scoops on? the under bracing is pre drilled in many cases.. my 70 and 71 hoos have all been pre drilled..

you going to drill the 4 1/8" holes (think they are) too? i've yet to do mine. i have the rubber pieces to go in and all. just haven't gotten around to drilling yet..

been a busy summer... at the end of june a chief petty officer reached out to rylee and asked her ot be a lead petty officer for a training in baltimore aboard the uss john brown. its a WWII liberty ship. i was like a chief requested ya, you can turn that down..lol she has done that...
