    Drag Week 2024 live feed..

Man I wish there was access to more info on the cars running. The red F100 of Jeff Watt sounds like it has a Nascar motor in it or something but I can't find any info. The (barnfind) blue '67 Mustang coupe of Chad Garoutte running 9's, curious what he has for a power plant. Saw on FB last...

    360 Questions.. pardon my ignorance.

Not to be an *** because you’re trying to help but you need to rethink how ported vacuum works, your description is very wrong. It is similar to manifold vacuum except for at idle.

    Battery relocation - ground question

I have my battery relocated to the trunk in one of my cars. I have it grounded to the frame down through the trunk. Same as mentioned above. Frame rails tied, full cage, front and mid plates mounting engine.

UPDATE - Looks so good but ya can't shut the hood

True. What people want for beat up originals is just ridiculous. I did find a new 440 TNT for my Chrysler New Yorker for $50.00.

UPDATE - Looks so good but ya can't shut the hood

Yea, leave the Aftermarket Air cleaner on, and when you go to shows put the original back on when the hood is open. Just don't forget and close it.

    Have you ever lost

Although here in MN it would probably be cheaper to register 5-7 old vehicles than 1 new one...........

I remember a guy with a blueish z28 that worked at Matt Johnsons that very few wanted to run. If I remember correctly it was a big block running mid 10's. It was pretty hard keeping track of the cars as there would be at least a hundred there on a Saturday night.

UPDATE - Looks so good but ya can't shut the hood

Agreed, I do what I need to or want to on my cars. Hack it up to make it work if you need to. I did on my air cleaner base on my Roached Runner to clear the taller Edelbrock intake and 2 stage nitrous plate.

I can't justify paying insurance and plates on a bunch of cars you never drive. Personal property tax , the list goes on .. My pockets aren't very deep anymore.

The 70-71 air cleaner is already pretty flat or low looking IMO. Oh well time for a Super Stock hood right? :)

What type of dart do I have?

My old '66 Commando four speed had a 7-1/4. 10/19/65 SPD. After I broke the right axle and the previous owner had broken the other axle and two sets of spider gears I replaced it with a '67 3.23SG 8-3/4. The previous owner bought it in 1975 and I bought it in late 1980 (broke the axle in Oct. 1981).

    360 Questions.. pardon my ignorance.

I found this but it doesn't help much if at all. I've got 99 vacuum ports but none of them are labeled for the vac advance. Unless they're calling it an OSAC valve in this diagram.

    360 Questions.. pardon my ignorance.

Makes sense.. but all the diagrams I’ve seen and threads I’ve read show it to be correct. It’s the standard Holley 2245, the vacuum advance is hooked to the small port that comes out of the passenger side of the carb.

Yeah, I'm pretty green when it comes to bracket / index racing. I'm good at Drag-n-Drive events, which average your times over the week. In those cases, you really are only racing yourself.

Switch to manual brakes makes car run better?

Just an update for anyone stumbling on this post later. The car running better is definitely not in my head. I don't generally run it too hard but decided to do a little testing Monday afternoon. It actually will break loose the right rear punching it from a 10-15 mph roll and it will burn the...
