Stop in for a cup of coffee

Ours was coal and then probably fuel oil if it was replaced or converted. When we moved in, there was a huge old cast iron natural gas fired boiler. We replaced it a few years ago with a Weil McClain Ultra boiler.

Are Speedmaster Heads Good? I've Heard a Lot of Bad Press on Edelbrock 340 Heads Lately

How can the speedmasters be garbage? I paid $440 with shipping for mine (bare castings) on black friday 2020, so with good hardware I have $8-900 in the heads. Best 1/8 mile on mine in a 3320lb car was 7.21 at 94mph in the 1/8th, seems like good ET economy to me. Granted the tricklflows are...

1969 Dodge Dart GT “driver” build

Made it to test and tune a couple weeks ago (either spins or dead hook/bogs) This was my best pass. The yellow swinger ran low 7's (408 4 speed). I got to see what my car would look like if it was nice  doppelganger!

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Grandma and Grandpa's house had coal furnace till sometime in the 60's. I remember going downstairs and the "coal bin" was there and told not to go in cause you'll get covered in dust. I'll have to ask my wife about her Dad's house in Winfred SD, what type of refrigerator they had. It was a farm...

1974 Plymouth Valiant Scamp - Restoration is a strong word

So, about the trans fluid leaks, I knew the selector shaft seal was bad, but I also discovered leaking at the tail shaft, so I pulled that seal and ordered a new one. Then I attacked the shift selector seal. When I realized how tight it was under the car, I decided to pull the crossmember...

Indoor plumbing, coal fired boiler for heat and a swamp cooler cooling system. There is an icebox door still outside. Electric refrigerators weren't available until the late 20's.

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

I'm out in Granite Bay. I had no restrictions but the local fire department required a "Fire Impact fee" of 50 cents per square foot of the shop. $804 for that...I have yet to see a benefit from that expense.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Interesting discovery. The sink and faucets are American Standard and the date of manufacture on the sink was Dec. 27, 1932 The house was built in 1921 so those fixtures aren't original to the house but we do know the bathroom is around 92 years old.

Voltage regulator should be on the firewall and the alternator should read 14.5. Probably would be 15 volts when first started to build the battery back up. Could be wrong on that.
