Can't Find My Oil Filter Wrenches Anywhere Today

I use a medium sized rubber "strap wrench". The best part is infinite clocking. I don't even own filter wrenches of any style anymore.

Thanks, I will be fine. Just keep it moving and get sleep. I never truly experienced the dry air of the west. Man I felt so much better. There is a reason they used to send people with Asthma and Tuberculosis out west.

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

You will most certainly need to provide access and possibly enough area to turn at minimum, a type 3 engine around. The requirements are similar here in Oregon for new construction. To me these requirements make sense however I alaways marvel at how many rural folks I know with driveways that...

Changing crankshaft bearings with the engine in the car.

the gargantuan pain in all nine assholes of laying on the ground with **** dripping and dropping on your face while cussing and fussing on this job aside... what happens when you're done and (insert sing-songy voice) the oil pressure's still low? while it's likely just the bearings are beat...

As I said another gorgeous day. Went shopping and after lunch I cut the front yard to see how it goes. I asked my neighbour to cut the back. I've been told that a horse shoe should be hung with the two ends pointing up or the good luck will run out. All superstition of course.

Changing crankshaft bearings with the engine in the car.

I've done it a few times when customers refused to pay to remove the engine. It's not difficult, but what is difficult is keeping it as clean as you need to. I always used a very small flat blade screwdriver to push the upper half of the bearing out. Once you get it pushed out about 1/2" you can...

Butters "Winter Upgrades". . Starting a Little Early

Honestly, I don't remember exactly... 275/60s maybe. They're something like 28" tall. I've been watching for a deal on a open 8-3/4 3.08 to pop up. I'll swap it out eventually. Definitely don't need a locker in Hoopty.
