    Next question

I ended up installing a 1999 explorer 8.8 in my duster, shortened the long side, welded new perches. After bolting it in, I have now noticed that the calipers are going to be very tight next to the leaf springs. Have any of you guys that did the 8.8 install, run into this issue, and if so, I’d...

    Help me stop

So in the process of building my duster, I have upgraded my rearend to an 8.8 with disk brakes. I have also upgraded the front to disk using a newer abody setup. My question is…. Do I buy an aftermarket type booster/master cylinder. Or is there another factory one that would bolt right in...

    Slant to 360

Hey all, question for you guys. 25 years ago I pulled a small block k frame out of a duster. My 73 had a slant six in it, and my intention was to swap the k members. Now that I’m finally doing it, Im wondering if I need to get different torsion bars or if the ones in it will work. Thanks in...

    Disc question

so are they worth hanging on to? I couldn’t get the drums off when I wanted to measure the brakes like you were talking about. So I just removed the entire assy. I was just going to toss them, cuz I figured no one would want drums

    Disc question

Welp, the disc brake setup bolted right in. So my 73 with sbp obviously uses the same ball joints as the 73 bbp.

    Looking for sizes

Did the 8.8 swap in my 73 duster. Looking for anyone else who has done it also, and wondering what size tires and wheels they are running. My 8.8 was out of an explorer so we shortened the the one side only to match the other. Pics would be great as well

    Disc question

But mine is also a 73. Just with drums and sbp. So ur saying the ball joints are the same size in 73 regardless of disc or drums?

    Disc question

Mine has the 5x4” drum setup. A buddy gave me a set complete 73 spindles with the 5x4.5

    Disc question

So my 73 small bolt pattern drum, uses different ballpoints or control arms than a 73 big bolt pattern does? I believe that’s what your saying?

    Disc question

I have a 73 duster with the 5x4 pattern in the front. I bought a set of used complete spindles with the rotors and calipers still attached off of a 73 a-body. Can someone tell me if these will bolt right in meaning balljoiints and stuff will interchange. Thanks in advance

    Dirty duster done dirt cheap

Hey all planning on building my duster cheap. And later down the road, spending money when it’s possible. So to start, I was trying to find a way to make the rear pressed board decklid look better. I made a run to Walmart for some adhesive spray, backer felt, and vinyl. So for a grand total...

    Looking for help

Installing an 8.8 in my 73 duster. Looking for ideas on what shock plates I can use. Along with what u-bolts. Before I joined I saw a thread about a member named moparmat that was making them. I tried reaching out to him but heard nothing so far. Any ideas or knowledge would be greatly...

    It’s about time

Hey there, figured it was time to join in, instead of always just reading everybody’s ideas. I have a 73 duster that I bought when I was 15, drove it for a year, pulled the slant six, then it sat for 30 years. Wife said time to do something with it since my boys are now interested in it...
