    Hard Starting Hot Big Block

Just to update this thread as people are engaged (thank you all for ideas and thoughts). I'm going through and adding the ford starter relay as mentioned early and noticed the riv-nut I used as my ground in the trunk was loose! So while I was grounding up front by the motor I'm sure the...

    305's on an 11" rim

2 inches? 10 mm is 10/25.5= about 0.4 inch.. I realize that this is a profile measurement, but how can the 35 series to 45 series possibly translate to 1.6 more inches? Ouch! 28s are too tall for the front, and "almost" too tall for the rear. 28s on the front; You will not be able to align the...

Ready to pull the trigger on rear sway bar set up 70 Dart, 8 3|4 axle....

Hey if you like it go for it, but then why ask for advice? Both the Hellwig and Hotchkis bars are high quality bars, with high quality hardware, detailed instructions, and good available support. At least they used to be, I've heard Hotchkis has been a bit hit-and-miss in the support...

    Hood scoop to big?

Ok, the long awaited hood scoop install photos. The scoop itself is centered left to right on the hood, while the 18.5” hole in the hood is offset like the engine. The center of the hole measure out to be the center of the air cleaner stud. Any gaps are from the prior installer cutting the...

    305's on an 11" rim

Did you ever mount the 305/45r17's? I am having a hard time deciding on 315/35r17 or 305/45r17"s. I like the 28" diameter tire and a little more sidewall but you lose almost 2" treadwidth (nittos) to the 315's

    904 Identification

Looks like the stamped number missed the first digit. Should be 4028815. Date code 5902 would be September, 24 1977 which would be a early 1978 model. Originally was used in 1978 Fury, Monaco, Volare, Aspen or Diplomat with 360 engine, 2 barrel carburetor with lockup 904 transmission.

    360 Questions.. pardon my ignorance.

If it should happen at a TRUE 20* Idle-timing, I'd just go straight to cam-timing. This can be checked close enough without taking the timing cover off, but, one valve cover will need to come off. The idea is to put the cam on one of either #6 or #1 split overlap and reading the advance off the...

    Small bolt pattern wheel spacers

If you're just using 1/8" thick spacers you should be able to use spacers for a 5x100 mm pattern. I wouldn't use rims with that pattern, but the spacers should work just fine as the lug holes will be oversized enough to make up for the minor difference in the pattern.

    ~450hp from stock stroke 340?

No doubt higher CR is better but ultimately air flow is king, if your engine is less efficient just run more air through it, Air flow (fuel) basically equals hp effected by a somewhat narrow range of efficiency and of course air flow along with higher cr (efficiency) is even better.
