Stop in for a cup of coffee

As a retired Air Force officer with 9600 flying hours, I have been to Florida many, many times. It is a beautiful state, and I can certainly understand why people want to live there. However, for me, Florida is a great place to visit, but I would not want to live there because of hurricanes...

Intermittent slow crank when coil wire is plugged in to the dist

Except through the transmission to the slip yoke, to the u joint, to the driveshaft, to the u joint, to the diff yoke, to the pinion bearing, to the center section, to the housing, to the brake backing plate to the e-brake cable, to the body! A couple ground straps from the batt to the...

Intermittent slow crank when coil wire is plugged in to the dist

If you can get the engine to ground right to the battery on the front strap and then one off the head to the firewall it would be better. With having “rubber” motor mounts there is really no ground the engine.

Intermittent slow crank when coil wire is plugged in to the dist

To me that would suggest too much timing at idle. Maybe your indicator is off? Have you tried a new battery, could be that simple

Crazy weather down south, lots of people evacuated and nothing to return to. Dont think i would want to go back. I like my high ground.

    Winter will soon return :(

That is not what I am talking about. I was talking about my neighborhood, and how water runs downhill. That is a natural thing. I agree with the fact that you cannot deliberately point water sources (extended downspouts, etc.) at your neighbors. I am just talking about a neighborhood where water...

    6.1 or 6.4?

6.4 hands down. More stroke, more availability. Think about it this way: if a STOCK (not the tires…) 6.4 and 8 speed can go high 11’s in a two-ton Challenger…

    Cloudy Instrument Panel Plastic

The instrument panel on my 67 Barracuda has dirty, cloudy plastic. You can barely see mileage, and the other gauges. I know there are products you wipe on faded headlight housings. Would these work ? Anything else that would clean it up to make more visible ?

Which head/combustion chamber is better for performance? Speed master aluminum LA or aftermarket magnum iron head?

My 2 cents… I built a 416 years ago that went 10.14@130 through the muffs…with a flat tappet cam…and EQ heads. The same guy that did the EQ heads for me has Speedmaster’s on his Dart: Tickling 300 cfm after some lovin and rubbin.

Intermittent slow crank when coil wire is plugged in to the dist

...engine has fired up immediately the 3 times I've tried it but it did seem like the split second it was cranking was still slow. I'll recheck the timing. I think I'm at 10* initial but I could be off there. I'm starting to question the mark on the balancer. I'll reestablish TDC and go from there.

    340 or 408?

There's a stock (4bbl & headers) magnum 360 vs 410 but they added almost 2 points of compression when they stroked it, it gain 29 hp, 305 hp vs 334 hp but obviously a chunk of it's from more cr. There's also a more performance build 360 vs 410 using same parts think it was Edelbrock headed, and...

"Idiot light" vs. Oil Pressure Gauge

I am pretty sure I noticed my oil filter going into bypass mode on cold starts last winter.. the Pressure gauge read 5-7 PSI lower than normal until the oil warmed up a little.. That was on a slant six with 80K. Recent oil pan removal for dipstick soldering, and paint. Valvetrain looked clean...
