Curious front end issue. Ideas wanted

This is the correct answer. I’ve done the front alignment on my Duster and reset the torsion bar height after settling a few times now and what I found is 1/4 turn on torsion bar adjustment, drive around block, remeasure, repeat until you like the number. I tried that using the “jounce” method...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just back from errands in town, was crazy on the base, had to fill the waters and quick trip to commissary. Huge ceremony going on, hard to park, found out it was the Chief's pinning ceremony, good to see. Now it's tractor time, got some red dyed diesel, divide the pile in 3 and start burning

Coil Bracket Recommendations with Weiand Action Plus.

I'm building a 360 and using a Weiand Action Plus intake. I'm looking for input on coil brackets for this intake. There are no bosses like the stock 340 intakes. I was thinking a 6 pack coil bracket setup might work, but not sure. Thanks!

"Idiot light" vs. Oil Pressure Gauge

My solution on my Duster was install Voltage and Oil Pressure gauges in a custom mounting bezel that I made to fit in the uncut radio hole in my dash. I am not running the dash oil light and have bypassed the ammeter.

    Cam Phasing

 Nah, get Your money's worth out of it!! Locking cam & crank in place while tightening was probably facilitated by purpose made tools & practice, but they claimed it gave them flexibility, and saved a bunch of time. All the Ford DOHC Z-tech etc. engines use no dowels or keys on the cams...

Curious front end issue. Ideas wanted

All what you describe is normal. You cannot jounce the car with the tires sitting on the ground. They must be on something that allows motion like an alignment turnplate. So that's why the car doesn't settle until moved. You might try loosening the control arm fasteners and retightening while...

    6.1 or 6.4?

The Dart is street/strip. Nothing wrong with it, would just like to build a decent cruiser with air that runs well. Most likely I’ll rebuild the engine, add a cam and do whatever mods needed to make it live a long life.

"Idiot light" vs. Oil Pressure Gauge

I know that these cars came with pretty basic instrumentation but unless you're running a fairly stock engine, I wouldn't feel comfortable not knowing about the oil pressure. All of the A and B body cars I've owned had temperature and alternator gauges anyway.

I certainly wouldn't do that, but so far, you've not said anything to make be believe one iota that you actually know where the cam is in the engine. But alas, it's not my engine, so have at it!
