    1969 Daily Driver

I have everything but time is what I dont have currently. 8 3/4 with 3.23 gears and the 200 4r is rebuilt and ready to go in. I made all the templates of what I believe I need to cut out to make it fit.

    Overdrive tranny in an A-body

I doubt someone will be selling one ready to go. You'll have to build your own. You have to remember that the diesel guys are using a version of this trans (618) I believe. The OD unit bolts up to the A500 or A518. The guy I got my trans from had it rebuilt and they put the 618 od unit on it.

Magnum Swap, which 02 sensor to use, pre-cat or post-cat

Hey thanks for adding input as I have followed a lot of your stuff! The engine is up and running with just the pre-cat. Smooth as silk!! I owe a TON to this site and a guy here who went OUT OF HIS WAY to coach me through this. I have not driven it yet, but hope that my 97 does not go into...

Need wiring harness for EFI Magnum

...sold me an ECM for a 1999 stick shift 5.9 Magnum pick-up without the key security for a very reasonable price, which I can''t recall now. I didn't need a transmission control module , as I'm running a modified 2004R transmission from Extreme Automatics. It's the best automatic I've ever driven.

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

A nice setup for sure. I wonder if a 2004r can be built to stand up to a built 451. About 600 hp?

Anyone tried it on a 440? Will the 2004R hold up to one? Thanks

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

I’ve heard good things about Lonnie at extreme. I’ll watch this post and see how things go. I was gonna go 727/gearvendors. But i like the 2004r gear ratios better. Thanks

True. Add the 2004r and there’s an overdrive that fits.

Gear Vendors or swap to better tranny?

...the automatic shifting for OD and lockup. When I had the 2.73 gears in the back I ran 2,100 RPM at 80mph and got 25 mpg all day long on the hiway. Some prefer the GM 2004R trans, but they need to be upgraded internally and need an adapter plate to the Mopar motor. Some things to consider...

Anyone want to talk Chevy! LOL

A 2004R and some 3:90 or 4:11 gears would work really nice. The 2004R is slimmer than the PG but the trans mount on the 2004R is further towards the back. I always use a non-lock up converter to avoid the switches, wires and brake pedal lock up disconnect. It will be deadly off the line and...

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

Just made the first test fit of my 2004R behind the 340 in my 73 Dart Sport. Will have to trim more than planned from the passenger side crossmember but the driver side trimming was good the first time. Just have to weld them up now. I'll post some pics in my build thread later for anyone using...

...wheelie all the way to and from work “ Which may well be the case and im not sayin a word for or against that. Me personally , im putting a 2004r behind a smallblock and for the strength to cost ratio ill take it. Example : I also have a t-56 behind a big hemi backed by a 9” that i catch...

200-4R Behind a 340 and Reid Bellhousing Build

I used the mopar newer (90s) 5.2 starter (the small one), gives you clearance for the exhaust. I had to do a little extra trimming to get the starter nose to clear. It's all in my long post/thread when I built built and installed the 2004R. Treblig

Highway RPM with the 200R4. Gotta love it!

The 2004R will survive well if it's built correctly. There are many option on HP parts to make it pretty tough!! A stock 2004R probably wouldn't last very long behind a high horse power car. treblig

US Car Tool A518 Cross member

I agree, it's a little odd. If you look on their site they sell a cross member and an upper hoop kit for the GM 2004r. Wonder why they didn't don't for this trans.

    Horsepower with mileage options

A nice cam, good dual exhaust, 4:10 gears and a 2004R overdrive trans. He'll have plenty of pep and cruise at 65MPH taching 2000RPM (depending on the size of his rear tires). Treblig

Install a Tremec T56 Magnum in your A-body

2004r overdrive and then you can leave the crossmember and sheet metal in place. Looks good finished though.

Gear Vendors or swap to better tranny?

Boom! That's what I was looking for. I read a thread about your experience with GV, but wasn't that some years ago? Have the units not evolved? GV people say there is no need for cutting anymore. They use the term, "massaging". I definitely don't want to have to do cutting or pipe moving. As for...

    Gear vendors OD

With an A904 automatic, the ratios are 2.45-1.45-1.00-.78 with splits of .59-.69-.78 It's actually a great set of progressive splits, keeping your engine in the powerband, IF you have a decent rear gear..... Like 4.10/4.30s. It works even better with a 4 speed; the ratios are...

...Would like it to be within driving distance. I live in Northeast Alabama. If trading is possible I have these parts to trade for hood and GM 2004r transmission or what else you got. Converter lockup

See the links below. Can someone more knowledgeable about auto trans than I am tell me what is better and why? I'm going with the 2004R with Wilcap adapter behind the 340 in my Dart project. The trans is from an 86 Monte Carlo SS and will be rebuilt with aftermarket parts to toughen it up a bit...
