    Dodge 318

I have 2 slants, one an auto and the other a manual. I have several V8's as well. I did a 5.9L swap into my 72 Charger. IMO I would keep the slant 6. Everybody has a V8 these days, how many people still have the slant 6. The slant is a fast peppy motor when it's running right. My slants will go...

3 ohm vs 1.5 ohm ignition coil

Factory Service Manual does not list different coils for Slant 6 versus V8. The 1.5 ohm coil and a 0.6 Ballast Resistor is the best match to the Factory Electronic Ignition set up.

65 Commando stock brake set up

Commando, meaning 273 V8 four barrel. Yes all original V8 car. Data plate, vin, and engine casting numbers show this. I think I'm going to switch it back to 10 inch drums and buy new shoes. Who knows what happened over nearly 60 years. Just trying to understand these brakes. I did see an...

Small block headers: worst to best fitting. List your experience.

The hands down best fitting headers I ever installed Ford, Chevy, Mopar or anything else was the set of Dougs Headers I put on my 65 Valiant with a 360. I followed their instructions, used the Schumacher slant 6 to V8 mounts and they fit like a glove. No contact anywhere. I even used the slant 6...

    4 door mopar cars

Trying to find a nice 4 door Mopar is tougher than some 2 door cars. I have been looking for quite sometime such as a 1980 Aspen or Volare'. I prefer a slant six over a v8. Done with project cars. Finding something really clean is almost non existent

I like the Slant 6 and I'm not gonna let anyone else stop me from liking it. It's a cool engine and there's really not much else like it. I think even you'd be impressed with what the headers have added. I know I am.

[WANTED] Early A Body v8 Pedal Assembly

I’m looking to put a BBD carb setup on my ‘65 Dart w/ a slant 6. I need a floor mounted, cable actuated pedal assembly including the piece w/ the lever that the pedal pushes against. Thanks!

    Manual steering box brand

I sent them an email but they seem to be confused on what I’m talking about. They insist that slant 6 and V8 boxes interchange, and yes they do, but they aren’t the “same”.

It's no wonder the Slant 6 is so great!

[WANTED] Early A body S6 to V8 swap parts

Don’t let someone try to sell you a “V8 k-frame” ….1963-1966 slant six and V8 are the same. If upgrading to a V8 it’s also a good idea to get V8 torsion bars and bigger 10” or disc brakes…also the stock 7 1/4 rear won’t hold up to a V8 unless you plan to never get on the gas hard.

Who else ever felt this way?

Some of you may know that I am planning to swap the motor in my 73 Dart 4 door from a 225 slant six to a period correct-ish 318 LA V8. Well, I feel that this decision may be harder than I thought, because now I'm starting to like the slant 6 now that I have running like champ with all of it's...

Plan is to use a 383 block from a 65 Newport and stroke it with a kit from 440 Source.

Swapping 340 into 64 valiant. Center drag link hitting oil pan

His definitely looks like the slant 6 version to me. It's not exactly straight - it's got a slight drop to it (bottom picture).

3 ohm vs 1.5 ohm ignition coil

OK, so on my slant six I was running a 3 ohm Pertronix coil, no ballast resistor, with factory mopar electronic ignition. I'm swapping to a v8, and I read on the Pertronix website that the 3 ohm coil is for 4 and 6 cylinder applications, but for a v8 one should use the 1.5 ohm coil? Am I not...

[Found!] 63 Dart 225 /6, pushbutton 904, drive shaft or V8 conversion stuffs

Hey FABO. I have a 63 Dart GT convertible without a drivetrain. So, ideally, I'm looking for... 225 slant six/pushbutton 904 combo and Drive shaft to drop in and make it go. Or... Everything to make a 80s 318/727 work. Motor mounts, 64-66 V8 K member, dropped center link, and floor shifter...

"Theirs" might be the same. This is why I suggested simply using a stock box. This is the kinda crap you run into in the aftermarket.

    70-72 vs 73 cooler lines

I have a 73 Scamp with a 72 340/727 and I’m wanting to get new transmission cooler lines. I had to swap the original slant 6 radiator for a V8 one with the driver side inlet and the used one I got I have no idea what year it’s from. I see Mancini and in-line tube shows a different part for 70-72...

    Slant six transplant ‘64 Barracuda

Greetings All, Just purchasing a 64 Barracuda project car. Originally was a V8 car with PB automatic, both of which are now gone; as is the driveshaft. For my needs, a newer (early to mid 1970s) 225 slant six and 904 combination would seem to be easy to find, do the job I need it to do, and...

    Slant six transplant ‘64 Barracuda

The issue with the pan is not the center link. It is the front part of the sump. The later pan hits the K member. @briansb71 If you want to keep the PB shifter, send me a message and I'll give you my phone number

3 ohm vs 1.5 ohm ignition coil

I spoke with Pertronix, they indeed recommend a 1.5 ohm coil for V8 applications...though I could not get them to opine specifically on the mopar orange box in that regard. I do recall someone on the slant six boards telling me years ago that if I'm removing my ballast resistor (which I did)...

[Found!] 63 Dart 225 /6, pushbutton 904, drive shaft or V8 conversion stuffs

Just so you know, the K frame for an early A is the same whether it is for a slant 6 or a V8. Only '67 and later used different K frames. A '63 will require heater box modifications/deletion to make room for a V8.

    Slant six transplant ‘64 Barracuda

Easier than slant to V8. Hunt down the early A slant 6 motor mounts/brackets. The early A transmission crossmember will work fine with the later 904 trans. The later oil pan *should* fit fine and have clearance, since you have a drop center V8 centerlink in the car already. The special pan was...

    [Found!] 63-66 A Body Z Bar

Slant 6 and V8 use 2 different Z bars. And if I’m not mistaken, yours will also need to come from a 66 or older car. @SSVDP do you have a slant 6 or V8 one you could post a picture of? I have a few here to compare to if you have a confirmed /6 or V8 unit.
