1971 Duster OEM Center Console & Automatic Shifter Install - Shifter Pointer/Needle?

Newbie here so please pardon the questions. I recently bought a '71 H-code with 727 trans, and it has a Cheetah SCS floor shifter/console that I plan to replace with an OEM floor shifter and center console. I've already purchased the "coffin" OEM center console with mounting brackets and OEM...

    Super Victor port matching

Just to put a bow on this, this is the port lineup now looking down the plenum from either side. This is basically what I was trying to achieve and I'm good with it. The blue is Dykem on the passenger side head, the pink is the gasket. (Superformance) Again, cutting these gaskets sucks. Maybe...

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

Thank you for your service as a fireperson and EMS worker, but I only believe or agree on half what you say. Could of, should of. What if a plane crashes in the woods, lots of homes may be in danger because you can't get to the fire. As in your kitchen fire, I would think people should have a...

    Idle Transfer Slot on secondaries?

Posting here as I haven’t gotten much traction on FBBO. Carb is a Holley 650 Double Pumper. Does the idle circuit use the transfer slots on the secondary as well as the primary? Or are the secondary transfer slots for smoothing the transition from primary to secondaries? Or another way to...

Hi thanks for letting me join your group. A retired automotive engineer of 22 years, Ford and Toyota

IIRC bulb comes out from the back. If you discover bulb is not burned out, it could be a grounding issue. Their is a little nub on the housing that supposed to dig through the paint into the sheetmetal. If all this seems kosher, it`s most likely the switch on the trans. If 4 spd? the aftermarket...

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

Mine is $400 a year. It is just a way to raise your property tax, without calling it a tax. The reason I moved to a little town 4 years ago and get away from "BIG BROTHER" cities. Now it is coming here.

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

I have fire insurance, let them pay when it burns down. Is that why we have it? Save your water and trucks. Most shops are all metal and concrete anyway. All flammables should be kept outside. It's just another way to keep our money flowing.

Bob's Component Resto, Part 37: The Defroster Hoses

That's interesting. Must be a difference in the Canadian parts as the hoses I used from Nappa are made by Dorman, an OEM manufacturer and are perfect. Very little modification to get them installed and way more robust than the factory hoses. When they are stretched out it is very hard to...

More good news for the ford guys

I’ll never buy another set. I’ve found issues with mine which I’ve posted about, I Dont like the intake and would buy a super Victor or Victor340. With that said the TrickFlow head is a great head for those that want a 6.60 ET capible head or 10.50’s in the 1/4 with the right parts.

Putting up a shop in CA - fire department being a pain

I would think it would be a zoning code, not a fire code. What do they do when there is a fire in the open woods? My experience is a little different. Zoning sited me for not having a dumpster encloser, so I submitted plans for one. Problem was they also wanted a "hard" surface, plants along the...
