Thrust issues with AFR gauge and Brawler carb

P THANK YOU for posting that graph. One look at it and I’d have told you that you have too much emulsion. That’s what it looks like when they start slugging. Even at 4-8 samples you can clearly see it. Keep logging stuff. It won’t be long and you’ll be a real good carb tuner. You can...

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

Those are all unavailable options though. There is another rod length that is a tad shorter which would make more p/v and since he wants boost that might make it better. I'm not sure if a turbo cam would need to have that much duration

On a beautiful fall day we were prepping the classics for winter hibernation, sigh....

Sadly, yes. Both trucks have been parked in the shed/shop for the winter, although only one is up on "skates", as I have to be able to move it back and forth for a few more weeks in order to get to the table saw. Anyway, both are on battery tenders, as well as the boat (I fogged it a couple...

    3.91s in my 340 now!

It will break 'em loose form a stand still. Way more fun to drive with the 3.91s compared to the 3.23s.

    tail panel stripes

Two weeks ago (the 16th) I ordered a tail stripe from Performance Car Graphics. On the 20th, since I had zero emails from them, I asked if they even had my order since the only thing I had gotten was PayPal confirmation of funds withdrawn and I got back- "we have your order Thank You for your...

I recommended that platform, because it has everything you need allready designed in. Probably pick up a used one cheaper than building a lowdeck BBM

Good stereo setup for an A body?

This is why I posted! Getting suggestions and ideas! Thank you! I am not familiar with DSPs or what they even look like. But I like researching things and this will give me a great opportunity to so! P.S. What do you think a setup (like the one you described) might cost (ball park)...

Thrust issues with AFR gauge and Brawler carb

Here is graph from datalog. It was 2. gear wot acceleration from 2000 to 6000. Datalogger wasnt working properly because it took samples only 4 to 8 times per second. I have newer played with air jets or emulsion jets before. Lot of new information to think. I appreciate your input.

    MANUAL STEERING FOR DAILY DRIVER

I changed my '69 Dart over to power steering from manual because I have major shoulder damage on both sides. Now I can drive the car and not hate it. I have (which I believe) is a firm feel box with a slant 6 Saginaw pump. I bought the box used off a guy that changed his '72 Swinger over to...

    3.91s in my 340 now!

Man, do I wish I had a 4 speed tranny! 3,500 RPM around 60 mph is a little steep, but I would never go back to the 3.23s. It's not a daily driver and I won't be driving all over the place for car shows... a couple times a year I might be making an hour to an hour and a half drive. Thanks for...

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

Edit: the R3 blocks were available at a nominal 8.900 and IIRC you could take another .100 off if you thought you needed to.

    3.91s in my 340 now!

I also have a 72 340 Duster that originally had 3.23s and have swapped to 3.91s. Although my 340 is now 422” and I run a 4 speed. In my opinion 3.91 and a 4 speed are a match made in heaven for a street car.

Good stereo setup for an A body?

Eliminate the head unit entirely and spend that money on a DSP(Digital Signal Processor) with built in amp instead. Instead, download Tidal onto your smart phone for CD quality and above music streamed directly to the DSP and then to your speakers. If you conceal the speakers, no one will...

What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

You’d have a rod to stroke ratio of 2.29 and if you ran a car with over 270 advertised duration you’d never get the valve notched deep enough. You could make the piston thicker at the valve pockets but you’re just making the piston heavier than it needs to be. If it’s an unlimited induction...

Good stereo setup for an A body?

I am looking to install a new stereo for my '72 Duster. I don't want anything "crazy", just a solid sounding system. Probably looking at 6x9s in the back with a single DIN head unit, and probably a power amp. Suggestions or other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Maximizing flow limited combos?

Well, I already have most all of the parts and pieces. So if I can tweak a couple things and get another 50hp or whatever....I'd definitely consider it. Sending for porting, including necessary valve changes, etc. That's gonna end up costing a couple grand. I could manage a cam change, maybe...

On a beautiful fall day we were prepping the classics for winter hibernation, sigh....

Yesterday was a beautiful fall day, and my youngest son has some reorganizing of his single car garge to do this fall/winter and a winter car project as well ( another vehicle ) i told him his Duster could spend the winter at my garage.
