What would you build if limited to 372ci - with boost as an option

I could make a blow through 383 live on 18psi with c16 no problem. And I think it would make the power you need. I wouldn’t rely on any electronics to yank timing. Run a locked out distributor and it will be fail safe. You don’t need a curve in a bonneville engine. In fact you need to dump off...

Pin hole in cast iron head

So far the jack nut + Belzona has survived the FT cam break in and 3 short drives. Total run time close to an hour I suppose. No indication of any water leaks yet. My daughter is getting married this Saturday and wants me to drive her to the aisle (outdoor wedding) in the old truck. I'm...

Planning my shop Build-out for next summer, looking for advice.

We like having our air compressor inside the shop just for a clean install and maintenance. No pipes or wiring going through the wall or floor. The outside of the building always looks better without a "compressor shack" ganged onto the main building. Good air compressors with noise suppression...

You can buy insulation in a big blanket that goes around the roof trusses right on the underside of the roof and down the walls. It insulates better cause there are no 2x4’s to transfer cold to the inside wall. On mine I ran siding faced plywood up 4 feet on the inside walls and the rest metal...

What would cause engine to jam while cranking??

Ok, I just spoke with Rick at Rick's Mopar, we did some trouble shooting over the phone, I removed the coil wire and cranked the engine over, which took care of that issue,[ engine jam] he feels also that the timing is to far advanced, so he said I should start at the beginning, old school make...

Hi, I've had a strange lighting problem since having my interior done a few weeks ago. 1970 Dart swinger Slant-6. I'm not a good mechanic when it comes to electrical stuff, so if we can shed any light on the issue I will pass it on to my trusted old-school mechanic! Two weeks ago i had the seat...

Another feature I'm thinking about doing in my garage is to mount LED tube lighting fixtures close to the floor on the walls so when I'm under the car, I get way more light rather than use a drop light that I can never seem to get positioned correctly or the creeper gets caught up in the cord.

Did that with my first garage, mainly because it was too small to house the compressor. Worked really well.

Planning my shop Build-out for next summer, looking for advice.

I have a 10ft ceiling in my garage and I have installed a MaxJax lift. It raises the vehicle to about 4 ft high. I have a transmission jack as well and it fits under the car/truck too, allowing me to really do virtually anything I need or want to do. I have had my Bronco on it multiple times...

Roseville Moparts Car Show Oct 5th

Darn, I will miss it. I will be at Milan Dragway that day as a spectator for the last heads up series race of the year. There are some large parking lots in the area but I would not trust any of them. I am going to suggest calling Roseville police department and ask if you can park there. It is...

How I saw it done was to build a fully insulated area for the compressor attached directly to the garage with a small heater in it.

Good stereo setup for an A body?

I got the bracket that Jerry on here makes. I forget his screen name. It's a nice aluminum bracket that mounts 2 3.5" speakers in the front where the factory speaker goes.

Putting interior trim in the Bird. Difficult crawling around inside. Getting it done though. Note to self: ziplock with screws attatched to each trim panel. Bucket-o-screws isnt cutting it.

Butters "Winter Upgrades". . Starting a Little Early

Unfortunately, the HDK 8HP70 trans X member won't work for my application... My engine/trans is only 5/8" forward, where HDK is 1" forward on his K members... yes, really, that 3/8" makes all the difference. The lower mount was a good fit but it's intended to be used with the upper hoop mounts...

Thank you! Re: I like this idea, and I've often wondered about this, but I can't help but be concerned about moisture freezing-up inside the tank. I see you're in Canada, and thus I assume you're familiar with "hard water" there, so how do you get around this? As for the cord reels, we have...

    340 or 408?

I am another big fan of the 340. It is an amazing engine, well designed and very adaptable to upgrades. The 1970 340 should have a steel crank and rods. I believe you can stretch 2HP per C.I. if you really want to get extreme. The 275 HP rating is net HP and not gross so you are already around...
