Machine Shop Did not Shim Valve Springs

While the spring heights are important, IMO, the valve STEM height is equally as important and they all should be even. The shop should have done that FIRST.

Nope. Tried them too. I really would like stainless. I reckon I'll just get hex bolts and grind a flat on the heads.

Machine Shop Did not Shim Valve Springs

I'm in Mexico, so perhaps "blueprinting" a Mopar is too much to ask. I asked the machine shop to install the new 340 factory style springs with dampers at installed height of 1.650". However, when I picked up the cylinder heads with valves/springs already installed they just told me all the...

My experience with my one rental I have is that regardless how good or bad the renter is, It’s an asset liability. However that said what I like about it is the leverage aspect of it. I bought my house new in Florida 2014 for 229k lived in it for 4 years then moved to Georgia in 2018 the...

    Goodbye Torqstorm, hello Spoolius Ceasar

Very nice progress and runs. Just be careful if you tune to the meth injection and you do a hit and its all out, did that once with another car, great stuff especially if you put straight methanol in there from VP, different ball game with that. All you guys on here with exhaust off the turbo...

WHO'S GOT THE SCOOP ON RESIDUAL VALVES?

...valve. I plan on using the mc with no residual valves......Should I install the residual valve in the rear brake outlet or leave it as it came. ***On a side note, I have 2 masters from a 1993ish pick up with disks up front and drums in the rear. There are no residual valves in either port...

    Fresh carnage!

I agree with 72B&B, no Loctite on the cam plate bolts. Bottom one walked out, trashed the gear and probably jammed between the chain and sprocket or the chain and timing cover and blew the side of the cover out.

Pivot ball bracket for a ‘68 Dart

Hmm some good ideas.. I may do the rivet fix just to be on the safe side to get it home.. it’s not far but there will be a handful of intersections I’ll encounter where I may not be able to squeak through to minimize the need to shift

Yikes, had to be very abrupt to break the parts like that. Gear, chain, cover and even retainer. Were is the bolt and the piece of retainer. If it was the bolt loosening and jamming into the chain somehow, you would think there would be marks on the gear from interference. It would be...
