Ported or manifold vac for overdrive bypass vac switch?

...the terminal through the plumbing to the trans case and are independent of each other. You could ground either solenoid and cause lockup or overdrive to engage at any speed and gear, since this bypasses the governor pressure in third gear that activates the OP switches. I'll draw a schematic.

Ported or manifold vac for overdrive bypass vac switch?

...see that pic of the top of the switches. So when it kicks down to 2nd, it also disconnects the lock up and over drive all at the same time. The vac switch controls coming out of overdrive and lock up at lighter throttle that is not enough to kick down to second but cutting power to the circuit.

    3:55 gears on the street

1993 230horse V/8 auto Dakota 3.55 rear, the overdrive failed, locks up the rear tires. Performed overdrive delete and run straight 3.55. The truck don't care, I don't care. 2 mpg drop at 70. No drop in town. 300k and climbing. Also have one with 3.91. Probably wouldn't work for that one.

A body with an A833 and a Gear Vendor installed

...rear bearing. Additionally, the B-body front retainer will not fit into the standard A-body BH. This is an easy fix by using the A/F-body overdrive BH and front retainer. Some guys have machined the 4.35 BH to fit the B-body retainer. (IIRC 4.80) You could even use the entire alloy overdrive...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Had to heavily modify trans tunnel to install gear vendor overdrive. Top rear is tight. Might not leave room to pull trans back enough to remove it.

So have to pull motor and trans.???

    Vacuum kickdown solenoid setup?

...is a vacuum kickdown solenoid that appears to be wired up so I am wondering firstly where I should run the vac line to it. Trans is an a500 overdrive, engine is a 360 la, and the carb is a Carter 625 cfm. Heres a pic of the switch I don't know for sure if it's hooked up properly either...

What MPG are you 340 guys getting?

Watch your trans coolant temps. That 4400 stall with an overdrive could be a problem if it isn't a lock up converter.

    46 re transmission

Since you air tested the trans did you hear a nice thump when you applied air pressure to the front drum? Servo tested, ok? How about overdrive? In my opinion there are still two possibilities one is a problem with overdrive direct clutches. If the overdrive is good you will need to disassemble...

    42RH in 68 Dart advice/request

I cannot understand how it is possible for that to work. I'm not saying that it doesn't, I just can't wrap my head around this. Overdrive is actuated by an electric solenoid inside the trans. I have no idea how you could manually shift into overdrive as there is no linkage attached to the OD...

If I can get my POS dodge transmission 47re Junksauce to shift into overdrive I would for sure go. Don’t feel like driving 65 miles an hour for 6 hours at 3,000 rpm in my ‘01 cummins diesel. Lol

273 swap to 318/ build, cost, potential, daily driver

That's totally location dependent. If you have an LKQ in your area, that would be a place to start. Go with a mid 70s 904 and you'll have the part throttle kickdown. Any type of automatic overdrive will require big floorpan modifications.

    Transmission help! A-518 46rh swap

Introduced in 1990 in some trucks and vans, and was used until the 46RE was introduced in 1996. There were also lockup-only (no overdrive) variants of the 727 produced at the same time, so be aware of that- they're pretty obvious due to the lack of an overdrive tail housing, yet still having...

    Blueprint crate engine

If it was mine, I'd keep the poly (with maybe a 2x4 for the visual) and stick an A500 overdrive under the floor, and something like a SG 3.73/3.91 in the back.

    46RH overdrive ratio.

I was obviously assuming that the amount of slippage would be similar at a fixed speed and power between 2400RPM without overdrive and 1850RPM with overdrive. It looks as though I must have got this very wrong.

BTW that crank and water pump pulleys will overdrive your water pump. Might not be an issue but something you need to be aware of.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

right now I have 3.73s but I'm also building a 4.56 and a 4.10 center section. Options! The 4.56 will drop to a 3.54 in overdrive and the 4.10 will drop to 3.20. I think the 4.10 will be my main choice.
