Stop in for a cup of coffee

Brings back some great memories around Black river when I was between the ages of 8 to 18. I seen both of my king snakes when we got hit by that hurricane rains, they will be on the prowel around my buildings if there are any new burns out yet, cat turned a year old last July and it was...

Well the furnace came on so it was time to cook

We've been colder in the morning. No furnace yet. Just got a new one with new central air in July, haven't had the new furnace on yet. What is "Kelby"?

    Brake pedal won't return

Hang on, here's another option; if the pushrod, coming from the master cylinder is adjusted too long; the compensating-Port will not work, and so, as the friction pads/shoes wear, the pedal will naturally sink ever lower, as more and more fluid from the power chamber, moves towards the slave...

Speedometer not working on 64 Barracuda.

The cable end is square, but it's like twisted. I'm not sure if that's how its designed or if it's damaged. The cable isn't broken as I can pull it all the way through the sheathing from the transmission and that end is square metal. Cable looks good to me.

    Fresh carnage!

I’ve seen gear drives get trashed from lack of oil. Timing chain wear is mostly from not getting enough oil on the timing set. And this is on not just Chrysler stuff. GM and Ford have the issue too. There is a big difference between a production car driven by the general public and a race...

    HUMMING NOISE

It very well could be as poster #2 says But I'm gonna tell you a story of what happened to me. I'm going with a bad pattern on the coast side of the R&P. Sometimes that's just the way it is. My 3.55s have been doing it for all of 25 years. It's not really a bad pattern; I've adjusted it...

Speedometer not working on 64 Barracuda.

It has been so long since I had an early A that I don't remember if the speedometer end is square or if it has a nub on one side of the cable. Is your cable end square? Can you see anything inside where the cable goes (almost looks like a slot on one side in your pic)? If the car is running...

If your short of 400 hp doubt it will be by much, if you look a the basic 318 400 hp recipe it's 10:1, airgap, magnum heads or something on par and a 230° ish cam, your short on cr but are porting the heads.

    Brake pedal won't return

There is a special "shoulder" bolt that goes thru the pedal and pushrod. Often the wrong bolt, or a washer was added, or just gunk gets on that bolt, and it binds on the return. Try loosening the nut/bolt thru the pedal. If that eases the problem, find out why it's bindin and repair it. Don't...

And the damage probably didn't stop inside the cover. As already mentioned, better check the valves and pistons.

    Brake pedal won't return

There's this spring but i'm not sure it's supposed to return the pedal all the way. I have a 67 b body that has that spring on it. https://www.forcbodiesonly.com/mopar-forum/threads/brake-pedal-return-spring-and-seat.13954/

Where did the cam bolt and cupped washer go? Did it back out ? Any evidence of that on the inside of the timing covers. My guess is the cam bolt backed out. Then bad things happened !

You're right, it definitely is being pretty hopeful. I don't think it'll get there if I'm being completely honest with myself & you. Since this engine was nicknamed "Weird Science" for all of the random old school stuff I did to it i have always said I'd honestly be happy with anything from 325...

    Fresh carnage!

Always searching for new info, I'm wondering what symptoms of lack of lubrication to the timing set is showing. We've built the BBlks and Hemisback in the day, had a 340 Barracuda running 2/10s off the NHRA record. Lotsa really stout street engines with UBER valve springs. We also build, repair...
