ProMedia LLC, the organization behind the NMRA Ford Nationals (established in 1999) and NMCA Muscle Car Nationals (established in 1988), has made the difficult decision to discontinue motorsport events beyond 2024. Despite significant efforts, the company could not overcome various challenges, including the loss of four out of five major pre-Covid revenue-generating events, the closure of Auto Club Speedway for the NMCA WEST series, declining sponsor and advertising revenue, substantial inflation, and the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Helene on the NMRA World Finals, which was the company’s most profitable event.
ProMedia and its entire team express sincere gratitude to the racers and fans for years of unwavering support and passion for muscle car performance. The company extends its appreciation to its sponsors for their long-term friendship and loyalty, with special recognition to series sponsors Holley and Red Line Oil. ProMedia also commends its track partners, whom they regard as the best in the industry, and are proud to call them friends. Additionally, the company acknowledges its dedicated and talented employees and event staff, who have been true professionals and wonderful individuals throughout the years.
As operations will cease, ProMedia will not be attending the PRI Show this December. The company congratulates all NMRA and NMCA class champions and Top-10 finishers for an outstanding season of competition. Each class champion will receive a custom package that includes a Nitto Tire Diamond Tree World Champion ring, a World Champion Victor award, and a custom-embroidered World Champion jacket. Although ProMedia had hoped to present these awards in person at the PRI ceremonies, the impact of Hurricane Helene made this impossible. The company encourages champions to wear their jackets and rings with pride, in recognition of their incredible accomplishments.
Although NMRA and NMCA will not continue into the future, there are many other exceptional series, events, and racetracks that deserve support, whether as participants or fans. ProMedia encourages continued support of great series such as NHRA, PDRA, Street Car Takeover, and No Prep Kings. Fans and racers are also encouraged to attend spectacular events like LS Fest, World Series of Pro Mod, No Mercy, Lights Out, Snowbird Nationals, MoParty, U.S. Street Nationals, Mod Motor Nationals, YellowBullet Nationals, Drag Week, Power Tour, and Sick Week. ProMedia asks for ongoing support of their most recent racetrack partners, including Summit Motorsports Park, Beech Bend Raceway Park, US 131 Motorsports Park, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Gainesville Raceway, Rockingham Dragway, World Wide Technology Raceway, and Bradenton Motorsports Park. Additionally, the company urges support for key industry trade associations, PRI and SEMA, as they continue to advocate for the rights of racers and performance vehicle enthusiasts. ProMedia also encourages continued engagement with media partners that have covered NMRA and NMCA events, as well as patronage of prominent drag racing publications like Drag Illustrated and National Dragster.

ProMedia will continue to share year-end content and updates via NMRA and NMCA’s social media channels. The home office will remain open until mid-December, as the remaining team leads the company to the finish line.
In conclusion, ProMedia expresses deep gratitude for living in a nation blessed by God long before the phrase “In God We Trust” became a national motto. Each NMRA and NMCA event has honored God and country with a Saturday starting line invocation and the national anthem, followed by a Sunday morning chapel service. In closing, ProMedia offers a heartfelt message: God bless you, God bless America, and God bless the NMRA and NMCA.

And…the scamdemic takes out one more.

This will probably finish off a lot of racers that won’t have another home or place to race. Many attend only these races and a few test n tunes. Hopefully they sit tight for awhile to see if someone takes over or starts another series like this.

Big, big loss.
Several years ago Inland Mopars Car Club had the privilege to work with them on two events. One at Auto Club Dragway at Fontana, and the other at what is now In-N-Out Pomona Dragstrip at the Fairplex in Pomona. Both were outstanding events.

Folks, as much as I hate to think about it, the end of our hobby is in sight. We know the agenda that is being contrived, and there is no room or place in it for our passion!

Was just on the phone with Gainesville. No bracket racing in September. Brackets at Night of Fire in October (1 day). None in November or December. "We race starting in January thru September" (even though they missed Sept this year. Oh, and April too for a still unknown reason). "And we don't race in July/Aug due to temps." "And yes, we only bracket race 1 weekend a month as we don't want to compete with other tracks in Florida" (even though they may be a hundred miles or more away).

So all this glorious Florida weather, a decent (not great) NHRA facility, and maybe 6-7 bracket races/year. I don't get it! This is how the mighty NHRA promotes our sport at their own track? No wonder the sport is dying with this kind of leadership.

We need to transplant Milan Dragway to Florida!! I probably would go broke buying new slicks we'd be racing so much!

Rant over - carry on.

The best thing Keystone ever did was get away from NHRA. We went to IHRA and now WDRA. So far so good with this new outfit but time will tell.

My comment was my opinion, but I'm curious as to why you disagree so hugely!

Just for example there will be 1200-1400 bracket races at Norwalk this week from starting today through October 13th. Every weekend there are 3-4 events going on at any given track not counting regular local 1000.00 Payout races. It may be bad in your area but not for us in the eastern states.

I can sure see why! Gainesville's issue seems to be 2-fold:

1. No leadership: The track is ok but NO maintenance evident as the restrooms are poor, probably about 1 in 3 loudspeaker works making it near impossible to know when to go to staging. I've been there when literally NOTHING was said over the loudspeaker for 3-4 hours. No excuse there - just no leadership to make things happen.

2. NHRA influence: It seems to me the headquarters (NHRA) dictates the minimum of what to do/run. Combine that with no leadership and you have a track that is WAY underutilized and really just goes through the motions. Clearly the track is not being run in a manner as if it was owned by a private person trying to make a return. If it was, this place would be lit up as you can literally race every weekend down here 9-10 months per year as opposed to the 1x/month for 7 months Gainesville does. Best thing to happen would be if the NHRA sold it to someone that is hungry and then rented it back for the GatorNats. When you see the $$ people have tied up in trucks/motorhomes/busses/etc, you can be assured these folks want to race and race often!

I was hugely disappointed when the NMCA West went away. And that was before AAA Fontana closed.
I still don't know WHY Fontana closed, the dragstrip or the roundy course.
West coast racing is NOTHING, compared to midwest/east coast.
Local track gets maybe 50 cars for a bracket race, and currently about half the turnout for tnt that used to show up, despite weather inproving/cooling.
I went to the local eighth for the first time in a couple months (I had been out-of-state) and it happened to be the first Thursday night that the NFL played.
There was ONE CAR that arrived on a trailer. I waited outside the gates for an hour, hoping something would show up to make my $20 spectator admission worthwhile. Nothing did. I went home.

To bad there is nothing but the nhra on the west coast. Maybe the track that is five minutes away would be open more than twice a year. (....like it was before the nhra STABBED us little guy racers in the back!)
