This comment is true. Was not expecting the loud bang and flying parts. I got one out without the dramatics: Got the separator tool pretty tight, then a nice tap on the ball joint with a hammer. Came out relatively gently. The other was gnarly.

Recommended by Mopar for racing applications.

Everything must be as close to equal as possible. Mopars are notorius for bump steer issue going over hiily roads at speed. The car will want to wander as it goes up and down during suspension travel. This because eneven tie rods will affect the toe-in and toe-out while driving.

I have a 86 dodge d150, 318 with a 727 electric overdrive. I have heard these transmissions have all the durability of a regular 727. Might make a good choice after beefing it up to handle your torque and horsepower.

Have you considered a gear vendor OD with your 4 speed? May not have to cut anything in your truck.
