If you know the history of the bolts, you will know what to do. If the bolts were ther before you bought the engine, You won't know the history of whether they have been torqued properly, overtorqued at some time, Engine over revved before. All affect the ntegrity of the rod bolt and nut.

So will new bolts be torqued, stretched. That is what keeps them tight. These bolts are not torque to yield.

yeah man, it'll make it louder. volume is kind of a product of pipe length, muffler, and compression. if you have full exhaust to the bumper it'll be quieter than dumping it at the axle after mufflers. but you're running a relatively low compression stock motor, unless it's straight pipes out...

I agree, it holds the settings with the battery disconnected. I’m sure at some point if it sat long enough they might have to be re-entered, but I know I’ve left my battery switch off for days and even weeks at a time and the settings held.

Erie auto wrecking ( I 25 and Erie Blvd?) has a few Darts. Speedway just east of them has a 68. I don't recall if it had a hood. They do have a GTS hood sitting on another car but it's in really bad shape.
