    What Engine Is This?

I meant “Spitting hairs “. Lol That was a fat finger . I have better things to do than debate such a trivial topic . The engine was produced in 1966 and it’s a 318 . End of story . Im sure the OP is disgusted by now . We will have to find another dead horse to beat .

    Boise on fire

Idaho was lucky this year . As many fires as we have had it could have been much worse ! Super dry .. luckkly we had a few good storms in mtns about 3-4 weeks ago which quelled many of the fires . But nothing since . Late Sept and October should be rain and snow in the high country . Spent...

    Rod Bolts

Did you buy a car? If not In an imaginary engine, in an imaginary car, you could just pretend they are resized. He don't have a car, engine, rods or bolts.

    What Engine Is This?

That is funny. It feels like you're intentionally baiting me since it is not "Slitting hairs", The term you are using is actually called Splitting hairs. You seemed to miss that the first time around. Did I misinterpret that or are you now acting as if you understood it from the beginning?

    Boise on fire

Is that the Valley fire? Made quite a run for starting today, already listed at over 7,800 acres. Just FYI, for those in fire country there's a really great at called "Watch Duty". It updates with information on pretty much every fire, will send you notifications for fires in your area, has...

Have they got water tankers in the air? If not why not? Hopefully it gets handled before it gets to your house....

    Rod Bolts

If you know the history of the bolts, you will know what to do. If the bolts were ther before you bought the engine, You won't know the history of whether they have been torqued properly, overtorqued at some time, Engine over revved before. All affect the ntegrity of the rod bolt and nut.

    Rod Bolts

So will new bolts be torqued, stretched. That is what keeps them tight. These bolts are not torque to yield.

    Holley Carb ID

The square shaped entry on the primaries and the hole in the deck for a choke rod are dead giveaways that it once had a choke horn and it’s been milled off. Holleys that were born without a choke horn have a radiused entry on both primary and secondary sides. As said above, later model 3310 and...

Electric fan runs all the time

Just FYI, this thread is almost 2 years old . The OP with the temp issue hasn't posted on FABO in almost 2 years either. @mopowers revived it with his new question, but I don't think it's probably worth trying to give advice on the original topic.

    Rod Bolts

Rod failures are mostly due to rod bolt failure. How much are rod bolts compared to your engine cost. Remember that any fastener that is torqued, is stretched. Now modern engine fasteners are mostly torque to yield. That is guranteed a one time use. It is only a small amount of money for...

IIRC, the later 3310 had Its not "quite" a DP (2 30cc pumps) but I have the 50cc accelerator pump kit on it. Should give some advantage

Electric fan runs all the time

I don't believe you are getting an accurate engine temp. Get an infra red gun to test. Test temp sender as well as the gauge. New doesn't always mean it works. To constantly run at 145° something can't be right . Unless you are living in 30° weather, it has to be higher. Fans are intended to be...

Upgrades to my stock 273 67 Dart GT

yeah man, it'll make it louder. volume is kind of a product of pipe length, muffler, and compression. if you have full exhaust to the bumper it'll be quieter than dumping it at the axle after mufflers. but you're running a relatively low compression stock motor, unless it's straight pipes out...
