    Goodbye Torqstorm, hello Spoolius Ceasar

I use a trigger wheel cut from the CAD diagram Subcom sent me. It cost me under $40 to have it made. I probably have the diagram if he can’t find it. I use an unmodified magnum distributor; cap and everything! I went with a 4150 style throttle body because I wanted to retain my carb hat and...

    Cams for 318's

Find a noted cam grinder like Oregon I know of no negative feedback on them .they will grind a custom cam for your specific engine/power train. Will cost more than inexpensive ones, best of both worlds, best power available, quality. You don't want to be cheap on this

    checking rear end housing straightness

Honestly I would direct the energy to finding a stronger rear end like an 8 3/4 . By the time you verify straitness and buy gears/ pay for the to be set up you are 3/4 the way to an 8.75 . Since you want 4.10s I have to assume you are making some power and plan on using that power . I...

    What Engine Is This?

I meant “Spitting hairs “. Lol That was a fat finger . I have better things to do than debate such a trivial topic . The engine was produced in 1966 and it’s a 318 . End of story . Im sure the OP is disgusted by now . We will have to find another dead horse to beat .

Did you buy a car? If not In an imaginary engine, in an imaginary car, you could just pretend they are resized. He don't have a car, engine, rods or bolts.

    What Engine Is This?

That is funny. It feels like you're intentionally baiting me since it is not "Slitting hairs", The term you are using is actually called Splitting hairs. You seemed to miss that the first time around. Did I misinterpret that or are you now acting as if you understood it from the beginning?

    Rod Bolts

If you know the history of the bolts, you will know what to do. If the bolts were ther before you bought the engine, You won't know the history of whether they have been torqued properly, overtorqued at some time, Engine over revved before. All affect the ntegrity of the rod bolt and nut.

    Rod Bolts

So will new bolts be torqued, stretched. That is what keeps them tight. These bolts are not torque to yield.
