    I finally found out that there are 2 types of head, 1 is adjustable valves, the other is hydraulic. I got that info from another thread here from 2013.Anyway, the most common gasket is fel-pro vs12680, mine is vs-50185c.

    i have a 64 valiant and am trying to replace the valve cover gasket. i know its not the original engine, i have tried several auto parts stores and they all have the same gasket, mine is 8 hole with the intake/exhaust corners have an s-shape to them. by that i mean the corners are not rounded...

    thanks so much cruz, that solved that issue. i also see were the other small hose coming out of the firewall goes, to the heater hose valve. now i have to find where i put it.

    thanks for all the replies. I finally found the problem. the ignition switch wiring connection caused the system to not have the voltage thru the firewall connection. I am going to replace the harness for the dash.
