i have a 64 valiant and am trying to replace the valve cover gasket. i know its not the original engine, i have tried several auto parts stores and they all have the same gasket, mine is 8 hole with the intake/exhaust corners have an s-shape to them. by that i mean the corners are not rounded like a small block chevy. the number on the v/c is 761wos1 i think. its very hard to make out. the only block numbers i have are right behind the alternator & are 1 225 11 30 L & on the drivers side 330 1680 and the letters aa wj. i have checked on-line but there are no other numbers. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Hopefully this helps, thanks

I finally found out that there are 2 types of head, 1 is adjustable valves, the other is hydraulic. I got that info from another thread here from 2013.Anyway, the most common gasket is fel-pro vs12680, mine is vs-50185c.

Your head is a hydraulic lifter version. They started in 82 I believe. The head, gasket, and valve cover are different than earlier years.
