Inner fender removal for weight reduction?

So the car needs to go on a diet. More glass parts. Presently the car has J bars from the firewall and connecting bars under the dash to the A pillar bars . Is the structural integrity of the unibody weekend significantly enough that additional bars need to be added maybe negating the weight...

Edelbrock LD340 Intake Manifold Usable Max RPM?

No what you want is a bunch of guys you don’t know to tell you that what you want to do is right. I’m man enough to tell you that you are shitting yourself if you think that manifold at 7k rpm isn’t at least 30 hp down to a good single plane. Don’t talk about “bottom end” loss or other...

I am taking a liking to unpeated Scotches' and Irish. They are really simple for me though. I'll stick with my Ryes for complexity.

The extra pumping, loud noise, and bunchas of dust is crazy. I once had installed a rear wheel cyl pushrod and missed the shoe. The result was the pushrod slid beside the shoe, forcing the shoe outward against the side of the drum, when pedal applied, creating lotsa noise. Can you just check the...

How much weight can you shave off of an A-Body...and still have it look/drive like an A-Body?

Yeah, if I was buying then I would agree on cost for the CF. If I can make some parts of my own then it makes a lot more sense. I agree the hood and trunk lid alone can drop a bunch of weight. The electric parking brake I was looking at is the 2020+ explorer/interceptor/aviator rear calipers...

a few in out bourbon tasting group are getting Bourbon Burnout. They have branched out to Tequila's and some rums. I have just a few nice Tequilas that I enjoy sipping on neat. A Herradura Double Barrel Reposado is a favorite. I'm not quite there with the bourbon burnout thing, but I chase...

Interesting thoughts and observations on OD transmissions

I had a third pedal for years and I’m over it. This car was never intended to be a hotrod, though it is fairly capable.

Remember to check your Brake-warning system FIRST; and prove the shuttle valve is correctly centered. There are at least two other guys here that suspect the C-valve is the source of your woes. >That Dash light is also grounded by the Parking brake. If your cables are known to not be seized...

Edelbrock LD340 Intake Manifold Usable Max RPM?

If your choice is factory or LD340 it is what it is, obviously the LD340 is the way to go. What mods are you allowed to do? people will cut the intake up in quarters and cut access holes everywhere to port them out it's up to you and the rules how far you take it.

Cheers! For me, thumbs up to the Mezcal. I don't smoke but enjoy second hand segar or pipe smoke and I would have to play some Doobie Bros. or Boston for starters. I'm sipping on some Jack Daniels Single barrel, Barrel Proof rye. It's hard to believe 133.7 proof can be so enjoyable for the first...

Interesting thoughts and observations on OD transmissions

OD and lockup both are able to engage only after the trans is in 3rd gear. They both get their apply oil from the active 3rd gear circuit. Thats odd. My switches are adjustable and I have 3.55 gears in the back. To me the rpms of the shifts are more important than the speed, and I like 2,000 -...

[WANTED] 1967-'76 dash speaker grille (requires dash murder)

I'm keeping my expectations realistic. The stock speaker grille is not exactly the paragon of sonic invisibility one would hope. Just hoping to get some noise up front. Some of my friends still don't seem to get that idea, having come up in the "6 x 9s in the rear deck" era. One questioned...

Edelbrock LD340 Intake Manifold Usable Max RPM?

It’s hard to judge really because that combo wants 260-270 @ .050 and a big single plane. And I’d want more lift, like .630-.650, but then throw the LD340 on there and I’d want to see 230 @ .050 and .500 lift and 9:1 comp. So I’m gonna tell you to not be set in stone on any of them. Have a cam...

    Looking for PCM options

I completely understand. I struggle with spending a bunch of money on that stuff instead of using it for swap parts and such. If you want to stick to the GPEC2A that matches your harness, you are stuck having to do something to remove the CANBus start option like having Sublime or Hotwire...
