Use caution when you're buying from SA Gear.

These days I assume most parts are offshore sourced. I assume OEM parts are too. There are good offshore and poor offshore parts. You guess which is which. One local shop will not install non OEM parts....too many comebacks. I usually take my chances because my labor is free although it...

A picture would be nice to confirm whether it's original, Direct Connection, or made up. That would affect the price.

'74 air cleaner - before and after

Yeah, I almost did it black to match original, but I have an affinity for orange and have seen a couple like it, so opted for the color to make it stand out a bit. Bought a "318" sticker for the lid, but does not fit well anywhere. May trim it to fit.

'74 air cleaner - before and after

Wheelock's, here in traverse city. $40. They forgot to remove the gasket in the lid, so it got baked in. I was able to use a screwdriver and pull it out, but otherwise turned out pretty good.

    Noisy Demon trunk lid?

DO NOT USE FOAM Insulation. The owner of the Demon I bought used the foam. After media blasting the paint off had to replace the lid. The foam trapped moisture in between and it rusted out BAD.

[WANTED] Wanted: 1967 1968 1969 Plymouth Valiant Dash Bezel Black

Both my '68 and '69 Valiants have that style bezel, but with the flasher switch. I would guess you're looking for a '70-'71 bezel, when the hazard switch moved to the steering column. I couldn't find a photo to verify, but the factory catalog shows part #2984397.

    Intake upgrade?

...was not happy running there. Eventually, I found a 3.09 low gearset, a smaller cam, and the Airgap combination would go down to 3.66mph@500rpm@5* timing. After that, it pulled itself along quite nicely. When that cam lost lobes, I bought/installed the next bigger cam from the same...

    Splash Shield Question

I have seen plastic in a 69 Valiant, but not 100% sure it was original. My 69 Dart has metal ones and my 73 Dart Sport had plastic. I prefer metal, but plastic makes sense. For your car, I would say metal. Just my opinion.

    Headlight Question

I actually received an e-mail from toyotapartsdeal yesterday (it was on my work e-mail & I missed it) saying they'd ordered the parts from the Toyota parts depot. They gave me an ETA--to their warehouse--of Monday, 11/04. That e-mail arrived more than 12 hours before the card charge cleared...

Use caution when you're buying from SA Gear.

The nieces' Ford Edge crapped a water pump, and since Ford is pants-on-head retarded, the water pump is behind the timing chain(s). From Ford, this is like $800 in parts if I'm going to replace chains and guides while I'm there. Enter Rock Auto. I find a timing chain set from SA Gear. Is it...
