    Edelbrock LD340 WTH?!?!?

I run a LD340 on my small block stroker but I bought that manifold decades back when they were cheap. Wanted to go with RPM intake when I built stroker but Shady Dell said wouldn't see any improvement. Ppl been posting up a lot of newer Edelbrock castings are sloppy these days.

    Best Offster Rockers for RPM

Ok I went back to look at some of my past flow numbers. [email protected] is doable with a 2.08 valve. [email protected] is doable with a 2.05 valve. The pinnacle isn’t the problem, the last of available good volume is the problem. You still haven’t answered my simple question of “do you presently have rockers”

Even if not going 4spd as mentioned, a manual valve body cures the kickdown issues also and makes it much more funner

    Best Offster Rockers for RPM

I think to achieve my goals I need about 300cfm by .550" lift. The Edelbrock intake port is pretty UGLY IMO especially with that pushrod pinch and bolt boss sticking out next to the bowl. My first impression on fixing the port is to smooth out the pinch and try to get rid of the re-expansion...

Stop in for a cup of coffee

Maybe so. I had a Holly 750 R4779 on the 383 in my 68 GTS Dart. That car was also an automatic and I had to modify a lot of the linkage in order to make it work. It just takes a little bit of sense of engineering to work it all out. I'm sure you can do it.

Stop in for a cup of coffee

I'm struggling with the shape of the Edelbrock versus the Holley and the angle from the back of the block to the attachment point. The Holley is easy but it won't fit on the cast iron intake I think it would have originally been a Carter 4120s?

    Air Bubbles In Fuel Line

Did you say you have a Quadrajet on a Square bore intake??? That is going to be a major miss match. Big huge secondary butterflies trying to swing open in the smaller square bore openings. Did you use a spread bore to square bore adapter? Thinking that quadrajet is too much for your 318. If...

    Edelbrock fit issues

Here’s a couple pictures of my spacers. Luckily I did mine on an engine stand. Now remember when I do this job it has to work on Edelbrock heads and 360-1 Indy heads. Not only that but work for a Victor340, Super Victor, and Indy intake. Now I also run two different types of valve covers...

    Edelbrock fit issues

It could be worse or let’s say it could be worse for the head porter. TrickFlow addressed this issue by slotting each hole vertically 1/4 inch. I immediately thought ohhhh man that’s a great idea until I looked and saw they slotted every dog gone hole. When a head porter get an intake the only...

    Edelbrock fit issues

Yes and I admit when I posted this I was hoping you would reply. I know you have had these exact issues in the past and was hoping you could spread some light on the issue. I realize this is a race intake and the owner is going to race the car but I was really surprised what a pita it was to...

    Edelbrock fit issues

I tried my hardest to explain the reasoning above. Higher bigger ports flow more air but create other issues. We as hot rodders can overcome these issues for better performance. I’ve told guys for years on here about using spacers. For some of us it’s all a part of the job. Don’t expect those...

    Edelbrock fit issues

It's all good. Thank you all. The FI bosses on the end of the runner protrude so far over the valve cover flange. That was problem 1. Scribed the bottom of the overhang and saw we had plenty of room to grind. Spacers were ordered ,not sure on the eta. But I could see that was just the beginning...

    Edelbrock fit issues

With it sitting in place how do the ports like up. I take it you test fitted this with the gasket in place and just placed the intake on dry. If so that was a very smart move. On my Victor340 intake my center four holes are a son of a gun. I hold a washer in place and have to use a 1 1/4 (12...

    Edelbrock fit issues

Having a real hard time getting a Super Victor 2815 to fit on a set of Edelbrock heads. Finally clearance enough to get the valve covers on ,with doubled up gaskets....but can't get the bolts in on the #3 and #6 intake holes in the head. Trying studs on those 2 but was considering putting a slot...

    Intake manifold questions

I ran across this intake manifold for sale and trying to find out what it is exactly. Have been unable to find info on the Edelbrock website or Google. Looks like a single plane in the photos but is listed as a street performer for small block mopar in the ad. Would it be worth buying for use on...

    65 Barracuda daily driver

It's been a while. I think since my last post I replaced the intake gasket twice, but finally I'm getting somewhere. I've actually been driving the car quite a bit. There was a coolant leak at the intake and it's possible that that came from the heat crossover block-off plates that I made, but I...

    Aftermarket valve covers and intakes?

I just used two gaskets on each side. It worked for me but I was using Cal Custom valve covers and a Edelbrock street master intake. Not sure if the castings are the same thickness as yours. Bobby

    318 intake manifold problems

It's the throttle body, the reason am asking about the intake is when in gear and given gas it bogs down. It didn't with old motor

    318 intake manifold problems

Magnum engines; The stock “Beer Keg” intake is a bit high. If your running a carb, a cheap intake that will work well for low to mid rpm is the chink rip off rpm. The Edelbrock is much better but expensive. Get what you pay for.

I'm building a 360 small block with 8.7 CR a 224 @ .050 duration with a 500 lift and magnum exhaust manifolds. I have two intakes a factory 4bbl (1974) or an edelbrock torker. I like the idea of the weight savings of the torker. But what say you guys/gals?

Holley 6709 double pumper 750 carb info

O ya! the Guage reads like 11.5 to 1 something and 14 ish when decelerating! So carb works great! I basically left it in stock rebuild specs and tuned with a vacuum Guage. Super bad gas mileage for any heavy footer though! Stay out of the secondaries and she's not to thirsty!

    Another Super Victor

Another Super Victor ready for some flowbench testing. This one is actually mine that I ran 9.73 with 10 plus years ago. I did some updates to it as I’m doing much nicer work now than I did back then. I did a set of Edelbrock heads for an Ohio friend that are done but I’m waiting for his keepers...

    Performance Indicator

I replaced the old cast iron intake manifold with an Edelbrock Airgap and carb - I have a working performance indicator (vacuum gauge), but there’s no place to connect it to the intake. Can it be connected directly to the vacuum nipple on the Edelbrock carb?
