Finally get to pretend I am one of the cool kids - Holley kit swap

Looks like I ordered 4893315AC. It’s kind of speedy, and seems to have gone up since I bought mine. There is also a TRX version that has ports for an oil cooler. But I don’t have a part number for it and can’t say for sure it works. But my guess is that it will. Things Change.. Butters is...

    Congrats to member Scampin

Congrats on your low timeslip. I actually still hold the New Zealand F.A.S.T. record here with my now ex. 1970 Plymouth GTX. Fresh from a photoshoot and not long after a major car show - absolutely as heavy as it could be - the only thing different between then and when it left the dealership...

Was just woken at 11:30 our mountain is burning and has gotten worse.

Hoping that all goes well for you Steve and that it doesn't worsen. I'm originally from PA and it saddens and infuriates me with this lack of support for everyone involved that has potential to lose everything. Keep up posted and please stay safe.

Was just woken at 11:30 our mountain is burning and has gotten worse.

Ya know, I was in fire research back east. I burned with TNC and Cape Cod National Seashore. My major prof and the feds made me certify for basic and chainsaws. Red card through my FIA time in Michigan. When they sent us to inventory the black Hills and Devils Tower, the Cement Ridge fire...

Thinking of hanging my shingle out again. Thoughts? Ideals?

I was doing some serious contemplating about starting my own business again, especially after being let go almost 2 weeks ago due to " shift in finances " per my previous manager. But, that's another time and story. I've always been in the automotive industry with few exceptions since 1982...

The steel one I ran for years, knew it wasn’t ideal, but had no easy alternative. This is actually the first CF base, (Bill D. is now running it without the stub stack, but with his own CF lid.) the lids I made are 1/2” bigger in diameter. So we don’t need a skeletonized base. Pie tin still...

    Looking for professional engine builder/machinist

I would love to have Brian perform the work, he is such a professional. I had already waited a year and got a little impatient with the previous build, I can only assume he is not interested in the project, several emails unanswered.

    Compression Ratio and Boost Query

O ringing the decks is not necessary until you get really serious with cylinder pressure. It shouldn’t even be part of the conversation. An 8.5:1 318 on 10 psi will be fine with regular old felpro head gaskets if you can keep it out of detonation. If you want some insurance stud the decks and...

    @pittsburghracer gone.

Everyone who has a collector car should have cats, it keeps the rats off of the wiring. I was selling my 86' 5th Ave to a man years ago and when I started it up, the air cleaner caught fire. I shut it down to investigate and found a rat nest in the snorkel that caught fire. He bought the car...

It's meaningful and useful everywhere. Comparing advertised to .050 tells you how fast a rate the lobe is.

Not Mine Doesn't get much better- 70 Duster for 5K or best, not mine

I wnat the horn... Had a friend with a 1960 F-350 that had a pair of those. You'd think it was going to blow your hat off! Honestly though if I had the $$$ laying around that I didn't know what to do with and it were closer, it'd be a good candidate for full fiberglass (including quarters)...

Following the SKOSH chart - your experiences?

It is manageable at slow speeds but I experienced a torn rotator cuff that is not repairable without a complete shoulder replacement. I find that I do not drive it as much because of that. At 64 yo, I want to drive it as much as I can. I will post a build thread when I get the project started.

    Metal in oil

David Vizard on his YouTube channel has an interesting video on oil changes I would recommend you watch. It was eye opening for me. And yes, stick with the z rod oil, best money can buy. I’m not familiar with prolong, but OMM has a highly respected reputation around this forum.
