    273 Commando Rebuild Or Not?

The stock 273 valve springs are all the same....2bbl and 4bbl. 318's used the same springs too. When installing replacement springs and retainers, check the diameters too, as some will rub the stock adjustable rockers. That's where using some bee hives can be beneficial. As for spring tension...

1972 Duster, 340/4, black on black (the endgame)

I absolutely love it when someone upgrades a 72 duster with a rally Dash it's just the missing piece that they always needed and it makes them the perfect combination

Following the SKOSH chart - your experiences?

It is very stable at high speed. tracks very straight on the dragstrip. 11.46 at 118+ no drift or squirrelly motion. Around the street if I did not have the shoulder injury, I would be fine. I will have to have it aligned after and will ask if they can get more caster

    EPAS Electric Power Steering install

I made a can sniffer out of an esp32 board but I haven’t tried sniffing the epas unit yet. I found this thread though, if you read through you can see where one person has their code. Looking at that it seems he deciphered VSS and RPM can IDs and the scaling.

    Eric's cam challenge

When you mention a "squarish " lobe, I think of the stock eliminator "cheater" cams. Radical rates, confined within fixed lift and duration numbers..... and cams that are incredibly hard on valvetrains and short lived.. But definitely part of how a stock eliminator car can be a couple seconds...

Been hard for the last 3 years dealing with it but now it's coming to an end. Will be nice having him at home as he does everything around here and helps pay the bills. He won't be here any longer than he needs to, and I understand.

    Eric's cam challenge

I'm a retired engineering tech (not specializing in engines) so I think I understand although I'm not sure what your level of understanding of physics is when you talk about the engine knowing things and running off of pressure differential. Delta P is just a means to an end. As we know...

Following the SKOSH chart - your experiences?

I run a 16:1 Flaming River manual steering box, 275/35/18's up front, and +6.5° of caster. I use the car almost daily, I do a 120+ mile round trip commute weekly which includes mountain roads, highway, and freeway driving. @Kent mosby - looks like you've only got about +3° of caster, so, if...

Was just woken at 11:30 our mountain is burning and has gotten worse.

Excellent post. We would put out a 200 acre fire in one operational shift in SoCal. We are well equipped and trained better but I can’t believe PA or any other local states don’t have a state ran Type 2 helicopter or a single type 2 hand crew. Incidents have been elevated on the East coast for...

    Eric's cam challenge

    There's a 50 hp gap between 1st and 23rd. And 1st is a 238° and 23rd is a 244° obviously the other cam specs are pretty different.

    Which spacer is best?

Good catch, and I would assume lower gains as the motors approach "stock-ness".

Not sure how this will go

Well the Jensen museum was a total loss, after ringing them to confirm what I was getting they sent just a set of main bearings NO big end bearings, really miffed. So the old big end bearings have been refitted. The block is now all painted, new two piece timing cover fitted, new water pump...

    Eric's cam challenge

Agreed. I only looked briefly myself. But I think that the biggest gap was between 1 and 2, and the gap between 2 and 15 was very small. This might suggest something as well.

intake/exhaust mounting, what am I missing?

The washers are just there, I'll make it look better upon final mating of these two. There is no head gasket nor intake gaskets (however there's a sheet of heavy duty plastic to keep stuff out, and, held together lightly and will be disassembled as soon as I get the go-ahead from you guys;)

    Eric's cam challenge

I would guess all the specs are pretty important, I do get what Newbomb Turk is saying as soon as the valve seal is broken obviously **** is happening, but it seems like @ 50 seems to describe a little more if you were gonna go by only one @ spec how it's gonna react in your car eg.. A 220° can...

First post - '65 Dart A833 swap questions - slip yoke, U joint, shifter location

Hello from Monroe, CT! This is my first post. I've had probably 20+ cars over the last 25 years, but I recently picked up a '65 Dart 270 2dr with a 225 slant 6 and a 3 on the tree. It's my first Dart, save for the '70 I had when I was in high school. The first upgrade I want to do is...
