intake/exhaust mounting, what am I missing?

Hi, thanks for all the super information! I'm assembling the intake/exhaust, not permanent by any means. I had this intake/exhaust manifold shipped to me from a ways off. The intake and exhaust were jarred, not lined up, so that gave me reason to separate them to clean/paint. There's a slim...

    Metal in oil

↑↑↑↑ idling then 10 mile drive isn't doing any favors. You will get fuel dilution and moisture in your oil. The engine has to get the oil up to temp to boil out the water and fuel. Otherwise you might as well save your money on the good oil. We cut the oil filters at work after dyno runs...

Following the SKOSH chart - your experiences?

The change in caster is absolutely evident as the suspension goes through it's range of travel. Looking at this chart of an A body 73-76 Disc brake steering knuckle, if you were at 1.17 degrees of caster at the stock ride height, you're over 4 1/2 degrees of caster 2 inches below stock.

    Looking for professional engine builder/machinist

Who is IMM? I’m not as knowledgeable as most of the people on this web site. I live in the Lake Havasu (north western corner of Arizona) area and can go North/South/East/West. The guy I used to use here in town retired.

2024 15th Annual FABO NASCAR "Pick 'Em" Game - One More Time!!!

I had a great weekend, and I didn't move a spot  Been a tough year in a lot of ways, but we're all here. I think there's going to be massive fines to several people from yesterday's race. The #'s 23,1,3 should get some "nobody better ever do this again" type money fines. Seen this ****...

    Metal in oil

Best if you don’t let it idle, as soon as you get oil pressure it’s best to keep it in the 2000 rpm range as that is where you get the best lubrication to your bearings. It’s also best to avoid short drives as you need to heat the oil to rid it of moisture and water. Moisture kills oil and...

    Eric's cam challenge

I don’t know another way to say it. Did you think about it? Let’s just look at the exhaust valve. I’m just pulling a number out of my *** but let’s say there is 500 psi in the chamber 1 degree before the valve opens. Now move the valve .006 off the seat. What happens to the pressure? Stop...

    Looking for professional engine builder/machinist

Same exact thing. Almost a year, I think he actually forgot he had my block and parts for awhile. Nice enough guy but shitty communication when you’re building a $1X,000 engine. I even started thinking maybe I did something and he didn’t like me. It was weird. Maybe if it was a $20,000+ build...

    [WANTED] Climate control assembly 1984’

Long shot but I’m looking for a climate control assembly for this 84’ van I’m playing with. Current one is busted up 6 ways of Sunday. I believe all the switches work on mine so if you have just a solid black frame work - that would be good. Thank you- Syleng1
