stock 360 2bbl is .410/.410 and 252/252 (or there abouts, 71~74 was slightly mas) stock 360 4bbl is .430/.444 and 268/276 ETA: 360 2bbl cams work great in 318's and that 425 grind from delta is very similar to an old MP purple shaft grind.

If going TF's I'd really shop for a 360+ engine, there more designed for 475-525 + hp, a 318 is gonna need to turn some decent rpms to get there 6,500-7,500 rpm. Would they work on a more mild 318 ? 400-425 hp with a fairly mild cam possibly, probably better then most would think but why under...

I’ve had it out a couple times now and it’s honestly way better than the stock 2bbl and manifold. Throttle response and acceleration are better than I expected. It really lets the 318 come alive. I’m really happy with how it turned out. Hopefully this winter I can do some work to the heads...

The '78-up 318 4bbl didn't have a port mismatch with their castings. The early 318 heads with a 340 intake did. Most didn't have a problem with that setup, but, I've seen a couple that did. Both had a major bog on acceleration. I don't know which cam, compression ratio, or rear end gear ratio...

I wouldn’t worry about it, there’s nothing wrong what you said. Until now this thread to me seemed to be going fine.

318 was not 230 hp, more like 170-190 hp.

i guess it all depends on the end results you are after.. for me, i would throw a 360 in the thing. if you want to keep the 318 you can do an intake and carb, work i=on the timing curve, rear gears, converter, headers, samll cam. depends where ya want to go and what you want to sacrifice.

you know what, you're right. but since you like to nerd it up, look at the graph overlays on the power. the 318 bands are much narrower. but yeah "pretty much"

2800 stall will be good for a street driver with that cam , my son has that cam in a 318 withh that stall , 904 trans . drives 60 miles to track runs 13.5 consistantly .

if you have a 318 build it, if not and you want 400+hp why look to buy a 318 to start with? i've had several 318's, the last i fitted into my valiant with a tunnel ram and solid cam so i'm not a hater. it's just easier and cheaper to get that hp with a 360 is all i'm saying.

You probably can get 400 hp out of a stock 273/318 head with enough cam and cr don't make it a good choice for that much horsepower.

You read my post wrong. What I said was, I did not notice much of a difference between the 318 and 340 until I added the headers and 2.5" exhaust. I had 318 exhaust manifolds on it at the time. Night and day once I installed the proper exhaust. The 318 gave me 14 MPG while the 340 was 10 MPG...

Call Delta cams in Washington. He ground me a 208/214 .425 lift on 112 Lsa for my 318 and I love it. Excellent torque and power with 318 heads and a quadrajet 4bbl.
